Baywood Service Center Bob Thompson Dishonest and arrogant owner who lied to customer and Husquavarna over a warranty issue. Petaluma, California
Bob Thompson at Baywood Service Center in Petaluma was dishonest in evaluating my new Husquavarna two stroke power blower. He was condesending and arrogant. I bought my blower, added two stroke oil to the fuel as recommended, used it twice and the pull cord was unable to pull.
Bob looked at the fuel in the tank and said the engine probably seized because I did not put oil in the fuel. He said that I overheated the engine and seized it. That was absurd because you could see the fuel / oil mixture in the clear reserve tank. The fuel mixture is green in color and not clear as gas without oil would show. He reported this to Husquavarna who in turn voided my warranty. He charged me $47.50 to take the motor apart to investigate the problem.
Knowing that he was wrong, I took the gas blower to a trusted, reliable, service center. They took the blower apart and found that the plastic flywheel was warped (defective.) Because of this the wheel rubbed against the plastic body of the engine housing and when the engine stopped, the flywheel melted to the housing causing the pull cord to seize up.
The trusted shop told me that there was nothing wrong with the engine, that I had in fact put oil in the fuel, and that Baywood Service probably did not take apart the blower or they would have come to the same conclusion. Bob lied to me, Husquavarna, and practiced horrible customer service.
