If you are a hardworking citizen, BB&T is NOT the bank for you.

Stealing your money without valid explanation is the issue here.

First they will begin the relationship by being less than pro-fessional and all the while looking down their nose at you, they will conceitedly claim to be the best in the business.

I am constantly being charged with overdraft fees and NSF fees when I know for a fact that i am not overdrafting. I dont write any checks and i keep track of my debit purchases and such.

That doesnt matter to them when you dispute the fact that they are taking your money. They will give you every excuse in the book and tell you until you are blue in the face that while all of your figures match and balance correctly that they just dont match what they have. And what they have -you've never seen!

This takes place mind you, when you go to the bank in person with all of your documentation to prove your case and it takes five BB&T employees (not one or two but five), to spend an hour looking at your account and admitting that they dont know what the heck happened and why I was charged, clearly they have no clue and while they will admit amongst each other that it must

be a mistake when they think you are out of earshot, that is not what they come back to tell you.

What they do is huddle long enough to ruin your day even more and come up with a distorted complex line of bullcrap story as to why yet again your money was stolen by the very people who are supposed to protect it on their end and help you manage your financial affairs better by banking with them and using their services. But it never makes ANY sense not even to them and it is always, always oh and always your fault.

Being charged $34.50 x 4 in one week for being $4.00 short when they couldnt prove it but i had to eat the loss. When a retail store mistakenly runs your card for the wrong amount but you fix the problem first thing you still get charged because its "electronic". However this same bank told me to avoid using ATMs because they dont really know how much money is in your account, get this -because its "electronic"! What a load of bull.

Here is a good question I asked, "Even if you could prove that i was charged because i used my debit card and my acount was short 17 cents,if thats the case why does the purchase go through when the money isnt there?" I dont care if its .4 or $4.oo i am paying $34 multiple times for no reason...The point of debit is to make a purchase which you have enough money for in your account and it is deducted automatically. But BB&T says

its electronic and its your fault. Oh and your figures never match theirs because you are just completely WRONG. I would still rather a purchase be denied and be embarrassed or inconvenienced than pay there cold-hearted unjustified fees.

The online banking system is yet another service they offer you but dont tell you that it too will fail you if you want it to be accurate or reliable. So what it all comes down to is that we have ATMs that are inaccurate because they're electronic, online banking that shouldnt be a reliable reference because its electronic, and fees that shouldnt happen but do because they are electronic and a bank staffed with employees who dont have a clue as to what they are saying to cover their tracks and how it doesnt make any sense, and who obviously never had any sleepless nights because they were up worrying about feeding the family now that your money has been ripped off and then to basically say what they say to make you feel like you are a horrible manager of money and a pathetic case of someone who is complaining again when its all your fault remember.

I do NOT think you are crazy. I have worked in client service for BB&T for over 8 yrs. I have disputed alot of fraud. It is possible that your ATM/Debit card has been duplicated. It is not odd to me that you are in possession of your card and yet what appears to be "your" card is being used. And if I am remembering what you said correctly in your complaint, you mentioned that it is illegal for you to authorize someone to use your card at the ATM. That is NOT correct. You could give your card to someone and authorize them to make a withdrawal but YOU are placing yourself at risk. Is your PIN on your card something that is easy to figure out? For instance, I will not let a client choose their birthdate, ss# last 4 digits, a 4 digit house #, etc. You must be creative with your PIN. Why are you afraid to have the film developed so BB&T can see who it is?
