BCTI - Business Career Training Institute Ripoff! Takes advantage of single moms and people down on their luck Fife Washington
While I attended BCTI from september 2003 til may 2004, I had all these hopes and dreams for a brighter future for myself and my daughter. I went to school every morning and worked my butt off, even though i knew just about everything that i was doing. When I met with Coral (my CC) I told her that i wanted to do the Phase II program where i could learn how to do computer networking, web design and computer operations.
Well i came to find out that i had to go throught the first phase. So i bought into the "mission" statement, the whole propaganda, but when i saw how much it was going to cost i freaked. She told me that i could come in and start the next day, i told them the only way i would sign up is if i got full finacial aid. When i found out that i was able to get it i said okay.
Well, after 8 months of progress periods and information i already knew (except with Mr. Adams i learned something from him)i was burnt out and found out i was pregnant with my second child. I signed up for phase II, it was going to cost me $15,000, When i found out i was having complications with my pregnacy, i withdrew from the program.
Well needless to say i was charged over $1,000 0on my student loan for a month of classes i didn't even attend for medical reasons. It hurts to find out that if i put BCTI on my resume that it will have little to no presidence to my education. I have 2 beautiful girls, that i was working hard in school to do better for, won't have the future i want them to have.
I work at the mall, and i make $7.50 an hour, i have applied for many a job and when i went in for an Interview for Qwest, they looked at my resume and said "oh you went to BCTI? did you hear about what happened to them?" and they laughed. Needless to say i wasn't hired. But who would hire someone for that good of a job (no matter how good the interview went) that went to a school that closed down for fraud?
