My name is John Quiroz. I operate as an office manager here at Becker Animal Hospital. This rebuttal is in response to the above mentioned complaint. Firstly, there are several statements made in the complaint that are baseless and false. No one in our office ever has to wait. We operate on a walk-in basis. We do not take appointments so the decision to have services done at our office is entirely up to our clients. Example 1: I called becker up and asked why is my dog acting strange. 'I dont know, figure it out.' He said. 'Uh...thats why Im calling you.' 'Well, I dont know, maybe you did something to it.''no, its been in your care the whole time.' 'I dont know then.' He hangs up on me. Our Factual Data: This is not how we operate and treat our clients in the office or over the phone ever. We are here to service our clients and their pets with the highest pet care available. I investigated this complaint with Dr. Becker and we could not figure who this client could possibly be. We do not accuse or blame our clients of not taking care of their pets. We are here to inform and educate our clients with the data that explains a condition that their pet may have. Example 2: So, I call back and talk to some guy and ask, if he could help me since becker was useless. 'Well, the symptons sounds like kennel cough.' I was shocked, 'how can it be kennel cough when I paid for the shot MYSELF at your location?' 'You didnt pay for anyshots.' 'Uhh...yes I did. I have the receipt.' It said I paid for the shots. 'Our records show that your dog didnt get anyshots.' 'so I paid for shots that were never given to my dog?' I asked to talk to becker and asked him how was it that I paid for shots that were not given to my dog. 'Well, its your fault that you cant take care of your dog.' Our Factual Data: The office receipt is an exact duplicate of what services are completed in our office. The services requested are written down by hand before they are entered into our system as completed. We have staff codes to identify which staff member is responsible for services performed on every pet that stays in our hospital. We follow strict protocol for everyone one of our clients to ensure that the highest quality care is given to their pets. Vaccinations are preventive care. Vaccinations do not guarantee an illness free pet. Unfortunately, if a pet is overdue and not UP TO DATE, as the individual filing the complaint states, then their pet is at high risk for disease or illness. Vaccination administration do not provide IMMEDIATE protection. The pets owm immune system will initiate a vaccine response. Example 3: Apparently my dog got other dogs sick and he wanted me to pay for the other dogs treatment since I was the reason that caused it. Our Factual Data: Our office has never asked a client to pay for any other clients sick pets. As a matter of fact, our office has never once encountered a contagious outbreak as stated by the client. We have never had to notify other clients that there pets were ill due to a viral outbreak within our clinic caused by another pet. Nor have we ever had to treat other clienteles' for this stated situation. We are here to provide the highest quality care available to our clients and their pets.
