I went to BHA today, toting my portfolio for marketing, with high hopes that after a massive e-mail campaign of my own, I might have found my salvation.
Thank God for the Internet. After my "interview" I came home and began doing some web searches. Oh how very interesting that was.
I want to thank everyone who posted here, because you just saved me false hopes, as well as an empty wallet.
Here is the Email that I sent out, just a few minutes ago.
========================================================
Please pass to Mr. Sadler that I enjoyed the interview today and that I came away knowing just a bit more than when I woke up this morning.
You may also pass to him that I will NOT be coming to the followup appointment, nor will I seek further services from your company, or any component of BHA.
I left today with many questions in my mind, and luckily most of them were answered by a couple of quick Internet searches.
It is unfortunate that a company such as BHA can garner the list of complaints that a simple web search produced. It is also unfortunate that the tactics used by BHA are below board and somewhat suspicious.
Having a background in Web Commerce and the Internet, it was also disturbing to see the host of domain names 'bought up' by BHA so that they could place their 'testimonials'. Five years ago, this may have been effective. Today's savvy web surfer is a bit wiser now, and you may want to rethink your strategy when trying to defeat search engines.
Having spent the last 12 years in recruiting, I have learned a lot. One of the most important lessons I have learned is this.
"When you think you smell a rat, there is probably a rat's nest nearby."
