Best Buy Ripoff Paid for data transfer from old to new computer. He could not successfully connect old hard drive to new computer Gaithersburg Maryland
I had paid for Geek Squad services, including data transfer from old to new computer purchased from Best Buy. First scheduled appointed, no one showed up; second appointment, received phone call person would be 2 hours late. When he arrived, despite my considerable concerns, he insisted on accomplishing data transfer by removing hard drive from old computer and attaching it to new computer, supposedly to save time (his time, which was not important to me because Best Buy charges per task, not time). He had considerable difficulty removing and attaching old hard drive. After consulting on phone to his "headquarters" he eventually gave up and replaced old drive back into old computer; but he received a screen message that it was not working. He phoned store again; I was informed I would have to bring the old computer to store where they would try and retrieve data from it.
Two days later, they told they could not retrieve ANY data from the old drive. They avoided taking responsibility for destroying data on what was a fully functioning hard drive in my old computer. My wife and I operating small consulting practices have lost a huge amount of valuable and important data. Best Buy has only offered to put in a new drive in my original, old computer and not charge for the data transfer service. We deserve a lot more compensation!

Geeksquad is pathetic at best. At least I hope you learned that backing up your important data should be high on your list of priorities next time.
