Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This is the second big screen tv I have bought from this Best Buy. And the second one that has been a piece of sh**. The tv I have now, a 40 inch HDTV from Samsung, has now been in for repair 4 times. They still will not replace it, even though their warranty states that after 3 times with same problem, they will give you another tv.

I have spoken with every manager available in the store; plus driven a 150 mile round trip several times to speak with them in person(I live way out in the mountains). The one time I went to speak with one of their managers(they seem to replace these guys every few months), he actually hid out on me. After I found him in the store, he told me he had to take care of one other thing, then would talk to me.

After waiting 15 minutes, I see Greg, behind the counter waiting on people. After that, he disappears to the "employee section" of the store, never to be seen again. I have spoken with other managers(who in the beginning seemed nice),who have said they contacted "higher up" division people, but never got resolution either.

Next, they had NEW contact me. A "liason" between unhappy customers and Best Buy. They are suppose to help facilitate a resolution. What a joke! The girl, who was totally inept, even left me a message stating that she told her supervisor "my whole tv had just fried and nothing would work". Not true!! I have had rattling speakers(sounds like a kazoo) since I bought the thing. Dont know where she got this info on it "being fried". I suspect they tried to push that theory as it would mean it is not the same problem for the 3rd time, thereby meaning they would not have to replace it.

I was also told I live to far out to have their "authorized rep" fix it(they dont tell you that when you buy it). So have been dealing the first 4 times with a place that has employees you can barely understand. Then the owner of the shop tells me he doesnt even like dealing with these guys cause he gets a runaround too. Told that to Best Buy and they told me Romero's has no choice, he has a contract with us.

So now after all these unsuccessful fix it jobs(they have replaced nearly everything on the tv), they now have a new repair shop(Rainbow) calling me to fix the speakers(cant understand them either).

I had already told Best Buy I will not accept a 5th fix it job(as warrenty states), I want the tv replaced. There is so much more, I would have to write another novel to tell you what I have been thru. I also have recordings of some of their BS, which I told them I was going to do.

Bottome line: I have a $2500 piece of crap; with a $329 service plan I bought, and after 10 months, NOTHING has been done. Oh except running me ragged with emails, calls, car rides, faxes etc; all of which has cost ME money. With all the problems with all these Best Buy's, why is there no civil actions against these RIPOFFS!

This is my second posting as a fellow consumer, in an attempt to help out another consumer with suggestions as to how to resolve this problem. I hope that my comments are published so that the person who is having problems with a defective television set can get them resolved. 1. Contact the attorney general/consumer fraud department in your state and file a complaint against both the manufacturer and company that sold you the defective television. 2. Contact your local newspaper and see if they'll do a story about the run-around that you have been through in attempting to solve this problem. 3. Contact the newsrooms at ALL local television stations and speak with the person who is the consumer reporter/journalist. Ask them to do a story on the matter. 4. Contact local radio stations that have local news operations and ask them to do a story about this. 5. Send a letter to the highest level executives at both the company that made the television and to the company that sold it to you. 6. Take the store and manufacturer to small claims court or to some other court to seek a resolution of this matter. 7. Get a group of friends, relatives, and other people that you know and go out and PICKET IN FRONT OF THE STORE. NOTE: YOU SHOULD CONTACT YOUR LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT AND FIND OUT WHAT THE RULES ARE IN REGARDS TO PICKETING. YOU DON'T WANT THE STORE OR MALL TO TURN AROUND AND USE YOUR PICKETING TACTIC AGAINST YOU. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT IN THIS MATTER TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU FOLLOW ALL LAWS IN REGARDS TO PICKETING EXACTLY SO THAT THE STORE OR MALL CAN'T TAKE ACTION AGAINST YOU. 8. Tell everyone who you know about how you were treated so that they don't shop at that store in the future. Good Luck, I have been through problems like this with electronics and I know from experience what a headache it is to deal with. Steve Syracuse, NY

This is the second time, that I as a fellow consumer have sent this series of comments out to a fellow consumer who is also experiencing a problem with Best Buy resolving issues surrounding a defective television. 1. I first suggest that you contact the New Mexico, state attorney general and or consumer fraud department and file a complaint against both the tv manufacturer and the place of purchase. 2. Write a letter to the highest level executive to the company that sold you the defective television and to the manufacturer of the television. 3. Contact a reporter who specializes on consumer issues at your local newspaper and see if they'll do a story on the matter. 4. Contact ALL local newsrooms at ALL local television stations and see if you can get them to air a story on the matter. 5. Contact the newsrooms at local radio stations and see if they can do a story on the matter. 6. Sue the store and manufacturer in small claims court. 7. Get a group of people who you know together and PICKET IN FRONT OF THE MALL AND OR STORE. NOTE CONTACT YOUR LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT ON THIS MATTER, TO SEE WHAT LAWS YOU MUST ABIDE BY. YOU DON'T WANT THE PICKETING SESSION TO BE USED AGAINST YOU BY THE MALL OR STORE, SO YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO THIS LEGALLY AND FOLLOW ALL THE RULES. Good Luck, Steve Syracuse, NY

I have experienced problems like this in the past with some electronics products. I have some suggestions to give you. 1. Contact your state's attorney general/consumer frauds office 2. Write a letter to the HIGHEST LEVEL EXECUTIVES AT THE TV SET'S MANUFACTURER 3. Write a letter to the HIGHEST LEVEL EXECUTIVES AT BEST-BUY 4. Contact your local newspaper and see if they have a reporter who does business/consumer issues who may want to write a story about your situation. 5. Call up the local television stations and radio stations, ask to speak with the newsroom and see if their reporters are willing to do a story about your situation. Good Luck
