I went to Best Cuts for a simple eyebrow waxing. I saw a sign that said they were less expensive so I figured I would try them.

The lady was very nice, however, looking back, I feel that she should not have had a licence.

She put the wax on my eyebrows and pulled about 15 times on the same part of my eye. It took the skin off of my eye. There was a strip of skin almost two inches long and a quarter of an inch thick that was pulled off of my face.

I knew that any one else I had ever gone to only pulled 2 times in the same place. On rare occasions they pulled 3 times. Never more than that.

I knew that she was pulling quite a few times, but they had a dispenser that I had never seen before, and figured that the lady had a degree and knew what she was doing.

Boy was I wrong. It begin to get sore while she was waxing, but after that many times I figured it was normal for it to get a little tender. Again, I figured that she knew what she was doing.

When I got home and looked in the mirror, I saw that part of my eye was much redder than any other and that there were little spots of blood. This should NEVER happen with a simple eyebrow waxing.

I called and spoke with one of the manager oif the Temple store. She said that sometimes when the wax gets old it tends to be more rough. She also said that she had not checked the wax in over a week.

So then I called the manager. She said she apologized and that should never have happened. She also said that you should not apply the wax more than 3 or 4 times in one area.

The owner said that she could give me free services. I simply told her that I felt that the quality of the ladies spoke for her business and that due to my experience I know longer trusted the quality of anyone that worked for her. She said that she would do it herself, and again I toild her that her business speaks for her, and that I would be a fool to go back to the place that left a sore that large on my face.

She refused to even give me back the eight dollars that I spent on the eyebrow wax and told me that I would have to speak to an attorney. I could not afford the money for an attorney or the lost salary to take time off, so I had to simply accept it.

I want to get there name out so that no one else has to have a scar - even the lightest one like I have - from something so simple.

I get my eyebrows waxed at a salon, and it costs me $20 (tip included). The lady who does my brows is VERY, very good, and I have been going to her for a couple of years now. Even though she may cost more than other places (average cost of other places is about $10), she is worth the extra money. I used to pluck my own brows for years, and they got badly mis-shapened and very thin. I went to several different salons to see if they could fix my brows, and all of them said "Wait 3 months for them to grow in, then we'll shape them". I didn't want to look like Burt from Sesame Street for three months. My sister recommended my eyebrow lady, Diane, and my sister told me that Diane works miracles even with thin damaged brows. The first time I went to her, she was able to turn my thin brows into beautiful, arched brows. She is truly a miracle worker with eyebrows and waxing, and I have been going to her since. If you notice salons that advertise value, there's usually a reason why. There are two nail salons near my house in the same plaza within 100 feet from each other. The first salon has a big sign up that promises a full-set of nails for a discounted price, but the salon is practically always empty. The second salon charges twice as much as the first salon, but customers wait for weeks to schedule an appointment, and they are ALWAYS booked. Guess who does the better job and gets all the customers? Remember, you get what you pay for. It's always good to get a good deal on something, but there are certain things you should not skimp on when it comes to price, especially if it's too good to be true for that price: 1) Hair salon/ beauty salon/nail salon 2) A used car 3) A house 4) A tattoo 5) Cosmetic Surgery
