Dinar Merchant (subsidiary of B&G Currency Trading) maintains a website at www.dinarmerchant.com, which offers Iraqi Dinars in exchange for US Dollars. On November 26, I received an e-mail confirming receipt of my money order (they do not accept credit card payment). The amount I sent was $225, which included a $20 fee to cover overnight shipping of the dinars via FedEx or UPS, according to their website.

As of today, December 15, I have no dinars and cannot get a satisfactory explanation as to why. Today, an online link that's supposed to take me to a page detailing my order takes me to a blank page. Today's calls to Dinar Merchant's order status/customer service department gives me a choice of speaking to a Mr. Boudry or someone else. When I choose Mr. Boudry, I'm automatically disconnected within seconds. When I call back and choose the other option, a recording asks me to leave a message.

Yesterday, I went through the same routine, became frustrated and spoke with an individual who -- lo and behold -- was willing to sell me more dinars but unable to help me determine the status of my order, which in theory should have been overnighted to me for my receipt on November 27. She told me that I needed to speak with Susie, but that Susie was away from her desk. When I was switched to "Susie's line", I heard a recorded male voice (same one I got yesterday), asking me to leave a message.

When I called the salesperson back for an explanation, she was fairly terse with me, telling me she couldn't help me and that the matter did not fall within her department's authority.

So, what am I to conclude? At this point, if I get my dinars, I'll consider it a Christmas miracle.

Sir, We are truly about the delay. You have to understand that your are dealing with a forien currency that you cannot get anywhere in the world but from Iraq. We never have intended to rip you off or anything to that nature. I work really hard to ensure that each and every order is filled. We cannot stop taking orders for a few reasons. Imagin if you called and we said that we werent taking any more oders you probally would be even more upset. The other reason is that we are a business and without this all of the employees would not have a job. We were suppose to recive our shipment before Christmas and we were un able to due to the courier. We got it in on this tuesday and we have been shipping since. Once agian we are very sorry, Joseph M. Beaudry B&G Currency Trading/ Owner

After calling and e-mailing several times, I got a sincere apology explaining the delay. And a couple days later I received my order, shipped via FedEx as promised.
