Complaint Review: BK'S Chihuahuas Ashland WI - Ashland Wisconsin

I wanted to write this report to let others know that this woman, Brenda Mattson, may be running a puppy mill out of her home in Ashland, WI. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE A PUPPY FROM HER AND SUPPORT HER WRONG WAYS OF BREEDING AND SELLING PUPPYS!!!! She only wants your money! If you purchase a puppy from her you MORE than likely will NOT get the AKC Registration papers you paid for and your puppy may also be very sick, as well. :(
 
Here is my story: I found Brendas website online and found my precious Chi puppy on her Nursery page. I fell in love the moment I saw her, however, I did not do my research on this breeder before I paid for my puppy (really wish I would have!!!!). When I contacted Brenda about putting a down payment on a puppy she was VERY NICE and replied to all my emails and questions about the pup on how that process would go She was very obviously anxious to get my money for the pup.

Its funny, now looking back when I inquired about the puppy, I remember I had to leave her a phone message for her to call me back because I was interested in one of her pups. She literally called me back within 2 minutes of my message. I understand now, that she doesnt answer her phone to just anyone probably because of all the people who are trying to get ahold of her who are pissed at her because she sold them a sick puppy with no papers. It all makes sense now. 
 
So, after I purchased my puppy I did some research and found YEARS of negative reports on Brenda Mattson and how she runs a puppy mill with sick and dying dogs and of course, reports about how she doesnt give her customers the registration papers they are told they will get with their puppy. I prayed that my puppy would be okay up until the very day I got her.

I took her to the vet the second day we had her home and everything looked okay.. on the outside. But I then brought a stool sample (because I just had a gut feeling I needed to) to my vet and found out she had Coccidia (a self-eliminating organism in the gut, it is dangerous and can absolutely kill if they multiply --happens all the time), and Round Worms. Both of these lend to low blood sugar as diarrhea can stress and make such young puppies deathly ill!!
 
Thank GOD I caught it early and treated both illnesses. I did contact Brenda via email and told her about this; she said she had no idea and that she would treat all her dogs just to be safe.  But honestly, after learning so many negative things about this breeder, I highly doubt she did anything at all.

: ( Live and learn I guess I will never purchase a dog from a breeder that I dont do my homework on FIRST, ever again. Its true, you get what you pay for her prices are very low for so called champion dogs, she claims she sells. Ive since then had other Breeders, all over the world tell me they know that name (BKS Chihuahuas) and she is a NO GOOD breeder!! : ( Funny how so many other GOOD breeders know who she is, isn't it?!
 
So anyway, upon pickup of my puppy Brenda made an excuse right away about how she totally forgot about the papers for my puppy and that she would have to mail them to me. I agreed, that was fine (knowing in the back of my mind, from what I had read online from past of buyers, I probably would never get the papers for the pup anyway). So, 3 weeks went by and still no papers in the mail. I decided to contact Brenda, very nicely, and check the status on them.  It became clear to me that she wasn't going to talk with me after she ignored 2 texts, 3 emails, and 2 phone calls trying to get in touch with her. I dont really understand what kind of person you have to be, to be so cruel.  I really hope Brenda Mattson gets whats coming to her someday; THIS NEEDS TO BE STOPPED!!!! These poor dogs! :,(
 
Ive recently filed a report and working with an agent at AKC to try and obtain papers for my puppy. I've made it very clear to them, as well, that this breeder is doing BAD things and this should be stopped. Our pup is our pet, but it still would have been nice to get her registered and have papers to her name. Save yourself the heartache and trouble and DO NOT BUY YOUR PUPPY FROM BRENDA MATTSON!!!!!!
