I am disgusted with the NO LATE FEE program that Blockbuster has implemented. They say that there are no late fees: until they charge your credit card the full amount of the movie when it does become late. They say that once the video is returned they will credit back your card back minus a re-stocking fee of $1.25. THAT IS A LIE!!! They will charge your account for the entire cost of the movie and once it is returned they will give you store credit. They do not charge back your card. How is it possible that you can charge my card when I am not there but you are unable to put the credit back.

Blockbuster is a scam! They are trying to survive in a world of things like NETFLIX - which I recommend instead of Blockbuster. Blockbuster is running scared trying to make money by stealing it from the consumers. I recommend everyone who has a blockbuster card, cancel your account, go to Netflix.

BLOCKBUSTER HOME OF THE LATE FEES!!

I am still a manager for blockbuster and here is how it works: You rent product AND you keep it PAST 8 days AFTER the AGREED rental period (usually 10-15 days later), and you are charged the FULL price for the movie MINUS the rental price (again, usually $5-$15, per movie). Before, it was $2.50 (canada) per day, until 15 days, then the movie was automatically sold to you. Late fees were only removed when dvd's became mainstream because of the cost of VHS' ($100-400 range). Now, onto the issue: If your credit card *IS* charged, and you return the product, your ACCOUNT is credited. If you come INTO the store and wish to have a refund, PRESENT your membership card and the credit card. You WILL receive a full refund minus restocking fee ($1.75). MOST customers simply use the credit to rent future product...

Shireen, "They say that once the video is returned they will credit back your card back minus a re-stocking fee of $1.25. THAT IS A LIE!!! They will charge your account for the entire cost of the movie and once it is returned they will give you store credit. They do not charge back your card." This simply is not true. All you have to do is go to the store where your card was charged, present the card on which the charge was placed, and ask for a refund (less the restocking fee). They can and will do it. It is not true that all you can get is store credit. If the manager (key word) says different, they are either blatantly lying, or just don't know (in which case they should not even be a manager). There were times when I was a Store Manager when I would refund cards that were charged for one reason or another. It is actually a very simple transaction. The only requirement is that you must physically have the card that was charged so that it can be swiped.
