Complaint Review: Blount County Sheriff James "Jimbo" Berrong - Maryville Tennessee

Here we go again, folks..just when we thought we'd heard the last of the begging from the Sheriff for more money, he does it again.

The April 10, 2008 edition of the Daily Times Newspaper included a front page article written by none other than the literary genius know as Joel "Scoop" Davis. (I don't know why I said that, that way..nothing personal so have a laugh and relax)LOL

The article was entitled "Commission to Consider Expanding County Jail". the article went on to include such famous statements from our illustrious royal sheriff as "We need to build this to save the taxpayer's money". (I think you know where I'm going with this.)

Haven't we heard this lie before? Didn't the Lambert Hoard build the new jail under the guise of "saving the taxpayer's money"? In case you don't remember,YES! They Did! And just a few short years later the sheriff was missing 8 cars, bought a $300K mobile command unit, a $17K hostage phone which to date still hasn't been us as far as we know, paid for the bogus degrees from a diploma mill in Mississippi for several officers who recieved promotions based on their quasi-"higher education", etc., etc., etc.

I didn't realize that "saving the taxpayer's money" involved raping them with higher property taxes and BS wheel taxes. Let the Lambert Hoard and their development/republican buddies pay for it. I'm sick of my "taxpayer's money" being tossed around like a hacky sack by Dave "the jewel" Bennett and the rest of the clowns who don't have enough fiscal resposibility to fill a piggy bank.

We don't need to expand the jail to house federal inmates. We've got too many criminals running around this county (Some wear the badge and some wear the development shoes of a psychopath) to even think about housing more federal inmates. I don't who this practice is saving money because the taxpayer's of this county sure as hell don't see the savings.

Justa few months ago, the Public Defenders Office was asking for more money because is office was swamped with misdemeanors. Everywhere that the republicans are in power in east TN, the PD's office is underfunded and the law enforcement community wants to expand their jail. What a sorry a$$ lot the republicans in this state have become.

You have to remember that since the sheriff is an active member of the lambert hoard, his obligations to his family and the development industry are always going to include building something. Lots of concrete in a jail. Keep that in mind.

We even got hear from A$$ Chief Deputy Skippy French who chimed in with some wishful thinking about how much can be made from housing federal inmates. you can't make money for the taxpayer when your boss wants to spend it all on un-needed gear and cars to be given away as political favors.

These A$$holes just never cease to amaze me.

You want to save the "taxpayer's money" in Blount County? Then get a new sheriff and finance director because they don't know what the hell they're doing. Get rid of the development clowns on the commission and the morons who still haven't paid "US" back for their "FAKE" degrees.

Why is it that in the state of TN, we make our Game wardens get a four year degree but the local county and city cops are made up of so many illiterate apes who got too old to play high school sports? Why is that?
