A telemarketer contacted me offering me a $99.00 weekend vacation in Myrtle Beach with the condition of attending a 90 minute time-share presentation. The lady proceeded to tell me about the properties owned by the company: condominiums couple miles away from the beach or ocean front hotels. As I explained the lady that I am a mom of two toddlers, she told me I was going to get a room in a hotel, ocean view, steps from the beach.

During the 2 week period between the reservation and the vacation weekend, I received an envelope with instructions as to where I was going to get my keys. After driving to Myrtle, and finally getting to the location for the keys, never knowing the name of the hotel where I was staying, I was surprised by knowing that there was not such ocean front hotel nor, ocean view room; instead I was booked at a condo, 10 or 15 minutes awat from the ocean and not even a swimming pool for my 2 toddlers!

It has been 4 days since the inconvenient, and nobody seems to be able to give me an appology for the misunderstanding, and even worse, I have been charged another $100 for not attending a presentation, they told me to re-schedule!!

They didn't live up to their end of the bargain, and neither did you

From what I can tell, the only problem with your reservation was that they gave you a condo "10-15 minutes" from the ocean, versus an oceanview room. Regardless, it is still a great deal for only $99, and one would think that a "single mom with two toddlers" would much rather prefer the extra space provided by a condo instead of a tiny hotel room. Considering one can hop in the car, drive 10 minutes, and spend all day at the beach really isn't that big of a deal. At any rate, why didn't you bring this mistake to their attention immediately, rather than accepting the keys and staying in the condo? And further, why did you not live up to your end of the bargain by attending the sales presentation? This was a condition of your receiving the $99 vacation deal. Since you failed to comply with the agreement, you must pay.
