The cabin included amenities, including a hot tub, gas grille and pool table. The amenities were the basis of my decision to rent this cabin as there is an abundant amount of alternatives from other merchants. After entering the cabin I went to the deck to check the hot tub. The hot tub was turned off, uncovered, and the water was cool. Anyone who is familiar with hot tubs knows that it takes about 8 hours to warm up, or longer. So basically we were waiting until midnight or later - best case. Well, I was unable to turn the hot tub on by using the user controls. I noticed a reset button inside the maintenance door of the hot tub and pushed it. The hot tub powered on and I replaced the cover, on with my relaxing right..? The hot tub would run (warm up) for approx 10 min before turning off completely. I checked the fuse box and nothing was tripped. It just shut off repeatedly over and over. I was told later by the maintenance person that the heat unit should not shut off until it reaches optimal temperature, then cycle back on when the temperature starts to drop. He said the jets should ALWAYS have power which was not the case.

I called the front office at 9:30 am the next morning and informed them. The Maintenance guy arrived at 2:30pm. He worked on the hot tub until approx 3:30 and told me he had to leave to go get some parts. He told me he would leave a note to let me know if it was fixed. We left and came back around 8pm. The hot tub was running with the cover on so we assumed it was repaired. Myself and my father-in-law entered the hot tub and turned the jets on. Within 5 min the entire hot tub again shut down and would not come back on. The office closes at 9pm so there was no one to call. I knew right away that I was going to get shafted. The manager Misty Loswell was a REAL b***h. If she was to talk to me the way she did over the phone I would slap her in the taste out of her mouth.

Anyway, I am sure they have some nice cabins and deal with peopl trying to get one over on them all the time. I was there with my wife and her parents for a relaxing chilled-out weekend. Instead I spent more time F#$%ing with the hot tub and gas grille that also didn't work. I also forgot to mention that the water pressure was non-existant and I had to stand right up on the wall directly underneath the shower head.

I don't want to sound like a person that goes to these places and bitches about everything. I have been all over the world, Europe, Asia, Africa - I know s**t holes when I see them. However, this place was very nice - but the service and the fact that they blatantly told me they will not give me anything back is the reason for my complaint. I own a business and I know how it can be. But obviously the hot tub is a POS and I was really only looking for maybe $50-$75 refunded. But the b***h manager would rather loose a customer. I only live 45 minutes away and really enjoy Helen. I will definitely be going up there alot so these idiots just lost a lot of revenue. Did I also mention that they throw in 2 $25 NON-REFUNDABLE fees..? One for Processing, like handing someone a piece of paper and there keycode is difficult, and one for damage insurance. Aren't security deposits usually refundable..?

Plain and simple the customer service is crap, they tack on $50 in fees that they don't tell you about - as if $200 a night isn't expensive enough, then they don't maintain things as essential as a hot tub and grille.

Had I known it was going to be like that I would have camped. Which is exactly what I am doing 2 weeks from now...
