I sent a card to my father for his Birthday and thought Bluemountain was a free service, they required a credit card but said they weren't going to charge me. I think its awful that companies offer free services and then without informing you in any kind of way they debit your account.

It was 2 months later than when they decided to debit my account $15 for service that they said was free. They should have the decency to send an email or even call to authorize payment, which I would have said no to because I never use blue mountain and never will again.

Its not about the money although the card was definitely not worth $15, I'm upset about the lack of honesty that a lot of companies have now. Because of the internet, companies lose their decency. I guarantee was standing in front of them they wouldn't get way with taking money out of my hand.

Try doing a chargeback

Do a chargeback to your credit card company... tell them what happened. However, didn't you think that it was strange for a company to require your credit card for a free service??? The only reason an internet-based business requires a credit card is because they are GOING TO CHARGE SOMETHING TO IT! NEVER give out your bank or cc number to an internet-based business unless you are BUYING something. There are many free greeting card web-sites as well. However, I just went to that site and sent myself a card, and it was free... the only charges they advertise is for membership fees. Did you join? Did you send a photo?
