I called the hotel to ask specific questions about the accommodations. I was told about the ocean view, the rooms with sliding glass doors, the beautiful outside patio, the free parking, air conditioning, just a few stairs to the upstairs, and the entertainment right nextdoor which is the Casino Ballroom, the continental breakfast and etc.

I stated I would be bringing someone with health issues. By the end of the conversation I was satified this place would be perfect.

When I arrived, I was sure I was shocked. The stairs were three steep flights with dark narrow hall ways. The room had disgusting looking linen and my clean linen was stolen from the hallway. The "free" parking was a block away. I had to carry all the luggage up a block, and then up those steep stairs. I made an exhausting trip to the public parking lot to park, and then back to the hotel for the parking pass, and then back to the parking lot again to hang the pass on the mirror so I would not get a ticket. The air conditioner was rickety and noisy, and it was dirty looking. The air conditioner did not cool the room. It was muggy and hot.

The ocean view consisted of looking out a window with the air conditioner in it. The furniture was all old and mis-matched,not in a fashionable way. No sliding doors and no towels in the bathroom. By this time my companions legs were hurting and chest pain from exertion was ruining the trip. I tried to explain this to the hotel person and I was told that my companion could sit on the patio while I sight see.

This I thought, was outrageous!! The hotel said if I left, I would owe them my $150.00 deposit plus another $174.00 dollars for their loss. In the meantime, as I stood there, calls from people to book rooms were coming in. Now the hotel told me that the calls were for one night stays.

I was told by other tourists on the beach, that someone is always looking to book a few nights because once they arrive, they decide to stay and people even get caught sleeping on the beach! I decided since the locks on the doors were loose and in bad condition that I did not feel safe. There were chairs proped up against the door for a chat area outside the room.

I left. I found a nicer and much safer place for a few dollars more. When I arrived home, I found that $174.00 was taken from my checking account even though I cancelled the debit card because my mind was made up that this company was dishonest. The bank made good on the problem but I am still upset that I had to forfeit $150.00 dollars due to the fact they are getting away with this.

Something has to be done to revise these hotel policies!!

People are arriving at these hotels and losing money in a bait and switch scam! My room did not look anything like the web site or the phone description. Further more, if a person leaves and the room is booked, the hotel has doubled their money by keeping the money from customers that they would not or could not accomodate. This hotel is next door to very busy entertainment area, and I would not doubt they rented the room and made more money on it.

This is a rip-off!! The web site looks nice. The outside of the hotel looks nice. The inside is a dump. There is no handicapp access. These hotels must be made to disclose accurate information and maps. I had to leave and loose my money because of a sugar-coated description. I live 3 hours away and was not able to view the room ahead of time. I know this cannot have just happened to me, and the most affected people would be elderly and handicapped arriving to find they cannot navigate the block away parking, stairs and other issues. They are to meek to fight and have to leave to find other accomodations. Someone has to do something!! I hope I can make a difference. Also, I wrote my story on trip advisor it was only there a short time with some other not so good reports, but mine has already been removed, I wonder why? I will put another one on to warn people.

As this person's claims and descriptions have absolutely no validity and this website would dare publish such inflamitory and defaming garbage without checking facts - I would beware of anything contained within the pages of this website. Ask the 90% of our guests who return each year. If indeed you do ask our guests that would make you 100 % more informed than the owners of the Rip off - Report. The real rip-off here is the owner of this sight hiding behind the guise of protecting the consumer when in fact all they do is print unsubstantiated material - full of lies and half truths -
