Bootstrap Developement Media Widget automatically renewed a purchase without prior knowledge or consent Boulder, Colorado
This company engages in "automatic renewals." The company does not inform the consumer at time of purchase. The charge just shows up in your account.
I purchased a software for a one time use last year. Since then, I never visited the web site and never corresponded with the company in any way shape or form. I was surprised, therefore, to see an automatic renewal charge in the amount of $29.99 on my monthly statement."
When I ordered the software it was not made apparent to me (or anyone else based on my research) that the charge would continue on an annual basis unless you chose to opt out.
To access the "opt out option" you had to click "learn more." Seems somewhat counterintuitive.
I contacted the company to request a refund and have been getting the run around ever since.
If you check the P.O. box of the organization (PO Box 19764, Boulder, CO 80308-2764) you discover that it is associated with several companies. While the company may be registered in Colorado, it appears to a shell company with operations overseas.
Had I known this at the time of purchase, I wouldn't have used their services. I would urge everyone to avoid this company like the plague based on their shady practices and questionable presence in the United States.
