Yesterday, I visited what I thought may be the answer to my job hunting search. The Executive Vice President met with me for 40 minutes and by the end, I was convinced that everything I had been doing in my job search was wrong. Basically, he told me that my approach was incorrect, my resume was lousy, my skills did not match my education and that everything I had been doing for the past 30 years did not amount to anything.
He also assured me brusquely that for a minimal fee of $3300-$4500, they would guarantee me a job. At that point, I was so rattled that I agreed to meet with them to continue the process. As my husband and I are both unemployed, he assured me that I could pay this fee through a credit card. I left feeling bruised and worthless.
Thank heaven for a dear friend who quickly found a similar report on the same company which had been filed several years ago in St. Petersburg, Florida. I've cancelled my appointment, so thankfully I am not out any money. I appreciate this site so much - it saved me thousands! It's amazing what scare tactics can accomplish and I want to warn anyone to stay away: if your ethics are intact and your skills are strong, you can find a position through targeted company solicitation and networking.

I did the original post and am now looking again. Guess who I ran into again? They are now calling themselves BEPC and touting too-good-to-be-true jobs in Training through Careerbuilders. Alan Lesser is the VP that I had the unfortunate meeting with. Stay away!

I met with George Feldcamp of AMC Tampa a couple weeks ago. Since our meeting, I have aggressively searching for information on this company. Nothing with BBB, nothing with Hillsborough County Tax Collectors. Their domain was registered in Sept 2008, and hosted on Dreamhost. The lack of any information was alarming. Then I started looking for George Feldcamp (who said he is 10 years with the company) and the address of the company. Got a hit. Address for Borden, Elliott and Pierce is the same address as AMC Tampa. George Feldcamp was an employee of both as well as Haldane and Associates. This website has saved me from a very costly mistake. I wanted to update the comment here so others knew that they are now Doing Business As : AMC Tampa with website amctampa.com

I had scheduled an appointment for Friday 9/12 but after reading this report I quickly cancelled it. Thank you so much for taking the time to file your report, companies like this should be put out of business and sites like Rip Off Report will help. Steve
