Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This company has told so many lies it's not even bit humorous to say the least. I called this company earlier to see if I am going to receive my money, and Betty Nix a Boyd Bros employee replied that I will not get my money. And now since they will give me my money how is a man supposed to pay his bills when they are due. It takes money to make money this day and time. I wish that this was only aired on television, so the whole world would know how Boyd Bros Transportation is doing to their drivers. This has to stop. Boyd Bros Tranportation is buying every injured person's attorney to keep from filing a lawsuit. If we can convince the world what this company is doing to their drivers, and what other companies are out there doing. Then drivers out there would have a little more job security. And not have to worry about big companies out there taking drivers wages from them. Then we can convince other not to go and work for Boyd Bros Transportation, and these other big companies as well. Then they will be forced to change or go Bankrupt. I can only hope and pray that the President of the United States can step up and ask Congress to step and impose tougher penalties on these bigger trucking companies to pay as they promised. Instead of lying to their drivers about everything. And going back on their word. The trucking industry will never change unless the Federal Government takes steps and takes action against the companies.

My Experience with Boyd

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Fri, April 08, 2011

I drove a Boyd truck for nearly two and half years. I was there for the first pay cut and the second pay cut, which was associated with the economy. I don't have anything to say about the company as a whole.
However, I did quit a little over a year ago because my dispatcher (fleet manager) and I could not get along. When I asked for more miles, I got less miles and sat longer. But, what drove me over the edge was I was out for three weeks, when I brought that to her attention, her response was "I didn't realize you were out that long." Okay, I got routed home for 2 days and let that one go.
Three weeks later, again, she didn't realize I had been out that long. That made me a bit mad. I talked to someone (I'm not going to name names) in Clayton about a new dispatcher, he told me to talk to someone else in B'ham, which made no sense for me to talk to the safety director.
Then I was instructed to call the first guy back after being given a 10 minute story about the economy. (???)
Finally, I get home on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010. After three adequate days, I left on Tuesday the 2nd of Feb. March 3rd I turned the truck in at the Cincy yard so I could make my own hometime.
A few days after I quit, I get a call from someone from Boyd asking why I left, how my time with Boyd was, etc etc.
After I explained what happened, I felt at first he didn't believe me, he told me he would look into it. Anyway, about two or three days later, my ex-dispatcher called to apologize. I felt as if she was forced to do so because when I told her to route me to a yard to turn the truck in, she didn't call, or ask why. (Probably because she knew why)
With all of that being said, I have been approved for rehire, and the promise of not having to deal with her.
Boyd has some of the best drivers I have ever met. Most are willing to lend a hand without having to ask. Guys that will actually offer TRUE advice about shippers, routes, etc. I've never had a Boyd driver steer me in the wrong direction like I have witnessed drivers from other companies do to each other. Just the hope of having them mess up.
Praise to the gentlemen and ladies that actually give a ****.

I am an Ex employee of Boyd Bros. I can honestly say they are the most reputable company I have ever worked for.  Anything they ever told me they would do they did 100%. and more, They truley care about their drivers. and have the best safety program in the buisness. I now have my own company and try to model it by their standards. I'm not sure of all the circumstances in this report but I am sure there is more to this than what has been written. Robert J

I work for boyd ive only been there for 2 months. With every company there are mistakes. They're only human. I had a payroll mistake and I did get upset about it. But I let my dispatcher know and in 10 minutes problem was solved. So I dont believe that boyd would steal from a driver

I recently learned of Boyd Brothers, as a friend of mine is thinking about going to work for them. It is rather far for him and we want to be sure that he will make the right decision. Most of what we have learned from the company and others seems to be good, and reading the rebuttals here has been re-assuring. I would appreciate information and comments from anybody else concerning this company. Thank you all!

Christopher, I just responded to your post in regard to your comments about Werner, so this is a shock to say the least. You claimed to have worked for Werner for ten months. You post here that you are waiting for money, so something doesn't compute. That being said...I don't think anything else needs to be said. You've got a problem holding a job, and you really ought to consider leaving the trucking profession. You're not cut out for it. Making vague references in a public forum that is geared towards serious issues is reckless conduct, to say the least. Nobody bought off your attorney. You never had a case.

there are steps to take

my husband and i are drivers for this company and have been for a while. i know Ms. Nix and i dont think that she flat out told him that he wasnt getting paid. there are steps to take and rules for any company(trucking or not) to get paid. this is a good company with nice people running it. if you are entitled to money and didnt break any regulations, you will get paid. if there is an injury involved, then the circumstances will be evaluated, a drug test will be taken, and then the appropriate steps will be taken to see if money is due. if you like working for a company in which you feel like family, then boyd bros transportation is for you. they are not a large company like j.b hunt, schneider, werner etc..., but they are large enough to get the job done and still treat their drivers like family.
