The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is the primary federal regulator for this financial institution, and is responsible for enforcing its compliance with federal consumer protection laws. The Consumer Response Center is part of the Division of Supervision and Consumer Protection. Based on a preliminary review of your correspondence, we must contact the referenced bank for information. It is our policy to fully review the available information after receiving the bank's response, and inform you of our findings within 60 calendar days. If our timeframe will cause you financial loss or other harm, you may seek to resolve this matter by any other means available to you. If you have additional questions or information, feel free to contact our office. Any correspondence to our office should include the assigned reference number noted above. As part of its supervisory responsibility, the FDIC assists consumers with complaints by informing them of their rights under federal consumer protection laws and by reviewing the bank's actions to assess whether the bank has complied with such laws. Our agency's authority to act on your behalf is limited to the enforcement of federal banking laws and regulations. The FDIC is not authorized to intervene when the dispute relates to the terms and conditions of a consumer's contractual agreement with a bank. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
