I was finally diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, but I had no idea what was happening to my body when I was in all this horrible pain and having trouble with movement. I was staying pretty calm considering. But these well seasoned nurses acted as though they had never seen a sick, frightened patient in pain before. Two very bad late middle-aged nurses in the BMH ER: D.O. Stowe, RN and Linda Rice, APRN FNP. These two women were experienced and knew better, but chose to be cruel to someone in a very vulnerable state. In spite of the overwhelming pain, I was very polite to them!

Before my migraine diagnosis I was halfway convinced the ER people were right and I was going nuts. Anything painful they treat you like you must be just out to get a hard drug fix. Seriously as if people couldn't find a pusher more easily and cheaply! But the original problem sounds to me like my friend who has MS, how stupid was that staff to miss that? I hope you found the right help.

I was fully insured, but was maltreated anyway. The doctor that saw me on my first ER visit was convinced that my terrible physical pain and trouble with walking was merely "anxiety". Dr. Dixon is older than Methuselah and needs to retire. Had he ordered the MRI like he should have, he would have learned immediately that this was a true, serious physical disease.
My own doctor was practicing at another hospital. We had car trouble and had to access the local emergency room. When I had to ride the ambulances, they refused to take me anywhere except that local ER. I was trapped!

What I really don't understand about this is - where was your doctor in all this. He/she should be intimately involved in something that sounds this serious.
Do you not have health insurance and that's why the ER is responding like this?
Is this another fine example of our horrendous have/have not medical system?
I wish you well.
