Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Wow!! Where do I begin!?!?!! Like the others, my experience with B/C started off pleasant enough. The agent was cordial on the phone, answered my questions as best he could with his limited knowledge of the property I was interested in renting. I started to get a bad feeling when he indicated that the property was too far away from his office to meet me there and that there was a key in the lock box on the door. I had no problem with that until he informed that he couldn't find the code to the lock box and would get back to me.

After three days I finally heard from him and he gave me the code. Of course it was the wrong code and after another two days, Mr. Property Manager finally got the right code.

So, I look at the house, it's just what I want so I do the paper work, and I think, ok, this is going to be a nice experience. WRONG!! I'm told that all the keys and garage door openers are in one of the drawers in the kitchen WRONG!!! No mailbox keys, no garage door openers. Of course Mr. Manager won't bring me the keys and I have to drive from Tolleson to Gilbert for the keys.

So, I finally get all settled in and, along with the heat not working, I start to notice that the front yard is always wet and the weeds are just having one big party. I notify B/C and after two weeks I still haven't heard anything. I leave another message letting them know that the weeds are about to over take the house due to some kind of leak in the drip system.

Ten days later I get a message that their maintenance crew was there and couldn't find a problem. I guess they didn't see the leak through the weeds. After numerous calls and emails they finally came out ( a total of 4 months) and replaced the drip system, YEAH!! Problem solved, new problem begins.

The HOA hits me with a violation, a fine for the weeds and of course B/C charges me to send me the notice from the HOA. It took another few months of constant emails to B/C (once you sign papers they never take calls) to finally get all the concerned parties to back out their fines and fees since the violation was caused by a faulty drip system.

During this time, and I might add that there were numerous things wrong with the house that I listed on the move-in check list. Did I mention that no one from B/C wanted to be bothered doing a walk through with me, how professional? Anyway, the garbage disposal unit in the sink made enough noise to wake the dead. When they finally sent someone to fix it of course they tried to charge ME $99.00 to fix it even though it was listed on the checklist. That took months to have the charge removed.

I could go on and on but the best was when I gave notice thinking that because I actually left the house in better shape than when I moved in that I would have no problem getting my security deposit back. WRONG!! Even though I had cleaned the house top to bottom, and repainted door frames, walls that had smudges, baseboards that had minor scuff marks, they still charged me $250.00.

And now the kicker, they charged me $115.00 for oil stains in the garage and driveway that were there when I moved in. I have photo's of these stains that I took before I moved in. What amazed me was that we never used the garage. Try fitting a Lincoln Town Car and a full size Honda Ridgeline into a standard two car garage that has that little two foot wide step up at the back end, not to mention the hot water heater that sits on a platform in the corner.

After informing Damon Williams( the putz who let the house next door stay vacant since last June and get torn up by vandals and never had the ba**s to return my calls) that B/C did not comply with the appropriate Arizona Statutes. He then lied and said the check was mailed on Feb.22nd.

The check did finally arrive on Feb.28. The envelope was post marked Feb.26 and the check dated Feb.26th So the bottom-line. DON'T DEAL WITH BREWER-CALDWELL whether you're a renter or an owner. If you're foolish enough to take the leap, make sure you have lots of KY.

P.S. I traced down the owner, John Beery (another sissy who at least took my calls) and told him that I had not received my deposit. He told that B/C informed him that it took $2,000.00 to clean the place up. Do you think B/C ripped him off too?? Considering that B/C refunded two thirds of my deposit, I think John Beery took it in the shorts too!!!
