My daughter received a letter today September 5, 2009 from Gerber & Gerger Corp. The city on the letter was Oklahoma City, Ok, no address. First of all when I opened the letter I'm wondering why is my 16 year old daughter receiving a award claim notification letter in the mail. They gave a reference number and a ticket number stating that the lump sum of $150,000 will be paid out to her once the taxes have been paid on it.
They enclosed a check (which was spelled cheque) for the amount of $2,420 stating that a tax amount of $1,800 will be required before the lump sum can be sent to my daughter and that the payment can be sent at Western Union. They went on to state that the payment can be made directly to a tax agent by the name of Nicole Hamilton @1-647-204-3388. When I dialed that number, I received no answer and no voicemail or answering machine.
The letter was signed by Brian Glendale (CFO) and the check was wriiten on an Bancfirst account in Oklahoma City, OK 73128. The check number on the check was 065302 and the check was signed by Loeb Shiman or Shimen.
