On September 12th, 2010 I checked into the location above and paid for an extended stay for a week and was given room # F-1092.  I retired for the night after check in.  I awoke around 5am feeling achy and itchy.  I proceeded to get ready and left to go to work.  Throughout the entire day, I began to feel worse as time passed.  I became very ill and started to develop nickel to quarter size welts all over my body and face.  I started feeling extreme burning and itching as these welts started to form and develop.  In the middle of these very large welts, puss filled blisters started forming.  The very painful burning and itching coupled with fever and nausea left me in agony.

 

Upon returning to my room at the Budget Suites, I investigated the room and bed thoroughly and found bed bug infestation beyond my belief.  Just after being in that room for only about 6 hours, I was bitten over 300 times.  I looked grotesque and my suffering from these bites were unbelievable.  I informed the front office of the incident immediately after finding the infestation the evening of September 13th, 2010 and wanted my money back to leave and was denied my request but was given the option of going to another room until they could investigate my claim the next day.  While I was in the office, the front office help informed me that one of the other guests was transferred to my room that complained of insect bites from another room weeks before my occupancy of that room.  Obviously, it must have been bed bugs attacking him and must have transferred to that room through his belongings being infested from his original room.  This is total negligence on your establishment!

 

I had no choice but to move to another room just as the other guest transferred to my original room.  This action has probably transferred the bed bugs to my second room because after doing research on bed bugs they get into your belongings and are transferred that way.  Another example of your negligence!  The next day your manager named Eric, who refused to help me or refund my money the night before admitted that they had found bed bug infestation in my first room F-1092 and informed me he would return my money.  He was very rude and uncooperative despite seeing the horrific welts and puss filled blisters all over my body and face and suffering tremendously from burning, itching, fever, and nausea.  I was so sick I could barely get out of bed and asked to pay for one more night because I didnt think I could move I was so sick.  He gruffly stated it would be $105.00 for the night.  I paid $259.00 for a week when I checked in.  I couldnt believe his attitude or lack of compassion for the pain and suffering I was experiencing caused by the negligence of the Budget Suites to properly treat infestation of bed bugs. 

 

I have suffered a loss of wages for a two-week period due to these bed bug bites in the amount of $2400.00.  I have lost and had to throw away an additional $2000.00 worth of clothing, bedding, and personal belongings to assure that I didnt infest my car and personal home.  I have, what I think is going to be permanent scarring on my body associated with these bites and medical and prescription costs in the amount of approximately $400.00 to date.  Now over three weeks later, I still have marks all over my body that make me look deformed and grotesque and like I said, it looks like they are going to leave permanent scarring.  This pain, suffering, and permanent damage to my skin was caused by the negligence of your establishment at the location above and the improper management by Eric to properly deal with bed bug infestation.  I have sought council from many pest control companies as well as other hotel chains and have become very familiar with the proper procedures when dealing with bed bug infestation and how to treat and properly assure your hotel guests dont suffer as I have.  Your hotel has been negligent and defiant of proper procedures in dealing with bed bug infestation and has caused damage to myself as well as other guests at this location due to the lack of properly treating your infestation problem.
