Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I went to BuiltWrite Fence or Built Write Fence, a Utah fence company owned by Robert Cargeeg, to get my new fence built. I'm a relatively new home owner and this was one of the first jobs I was getting contracted out. We had the money to pay for the job so when they asked for us to pay the full amount upfront I thought nothing of it. BuiltWrite Fence said they would get back to me on the schedule of when they will do the fence. After a few weeks I started wondering when they were going to do the fence. I called them multiple times over the next few weeks and left several messages and then I when I called them I got a message that said the voice mail was full. BAD SIGN! Here it is a month later and no one has contacted me and no one is answering the phone. I'm out all my money and I still have no fence. Finally the salesman we dealt with contacted us and said that Built Write Fence is going out of business. This means I'm out of luck. I was a little encouraged when he said they are going to try and sell the contracts they have to other local fence contractors. That was nice and will fix the problem if it happens. Here I am today and still no refund and no fence. I understand that businesses go out of business, however, I feel I was duped into paying for the full cost upfront rather than the industry standard 50%-50% or total at the end of the job. Anyone getting a fence in Utah stay away from BuiltWrite Fence. The owner is Robert Cargeeg, hopefully he has the integrity to make things right.

I have read 2 recent reports of Built Write Fences ripping people off by negotiating a job and not following through after receiving payment. I am currently having a large deck built (500+ sq ft) and 100 ft of vinyl fence. We contacted the company and began talking with an individual there. All was well until we paid 50% up front. Then we lost contact for about two weeks. My wife went to the office in Centerville only to find it closed up tight. Another week passed before we reached someone there. The office had been closed for a week for Pioneer Days celebration. Also the salesman we had been talking to left the company without letting us know. After all this, the installer contacted us and apologized and showed up the next day to start the project. He is here now working on the deck and will be done this weekend and will start the fence on Mon. They haven't said anything about the company having trouble and are in fact planning to display our deck on their website when it is finished. We were worried for a time after reading these reports but now are confident in their abilities. Their offices are difficult to find as they are small and located behind another building out of plain sight on a dead end road. We plan on doing business with them again in the future.
