I received an e-mail asking if I was seeking a car loan. I filled out the form and than I was contacted by Burlington Kia, the reps name was Lynn. She indicated to me they received my application and I was approved at Burlington Kia. I was told to bring my drivers license and 2 recent pay stubs for proof of my income and identity.

I was so excited since my credit score was a low 519 due to 2 reposessions. I was told I was PRE APPROVED for a loan up to $25,000. I was told by Lynn that my sales consultant would be Mr. Bill Levin, and to ask for him when I got there. Before I went, I called the dealership, and spoke to Bill and told him I had 2 repo's and a very low credit score, making sure they were aware and he said as long as Lynn said I was pre approved, than I would be leaving in a car that night.

I than asked if they have any SUV'S on the lot and was told they had a few SUV'S and to come down and see what you want. I live in STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK, almost 2 hours away from the dealership, but went anyway since I needed the car.

I got there at 5:30pm, and it was already dark out when I arrived. I sat down with Bill and he said he would need to run my credit. That was an immediate RED FLAG since I was told I was already pre approved, but I didnt ask any questions about that. He than came back with my credit report, put it on his desk, and put all my personal information in his computer. He than got the keys to a nice Dodge Durango, and me and my son test drove it.

We immediately said YES since it was perfect for me and my son. We went back to the dealership, went inside, and told me he would need to ask the banks for approval. Again, another RED FLAG since I was told I was already approved, but again didnt ask any questions. After about 30 minutes, he came back, said all the banks said they declined me and was told I would need to put down a larger down payment, and purchase a car, not an SUV. I than asked him why I was told I was approved and told to come down here if I really wasnt. He said with my credit, it would be very tough for any dealer to approve me, and that it would now be between me and Lynn.

Overall, my experience was terrible. They lied to me throughot the process and in the end I paid $25 for gas, $6 for the bridge toll plus $4.50 for the Turnpike tolls, sat in traffic over 2 hours getting home, and got no car or apology from either him or Lynn. I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS DEALER TO ANYONE, AND WOULD SAY NO TO ANY OFFERS FROM THEM OR LYNN.
