BustedMugshots Kyle Prall's extorsion company BustedMugshots refuses to take down my photo/info online after proving I was not convicted of the crime in question. The company is demanding a minimum of $98 to remove my information. This is a violation of my publicity rights, slander and defamation of character. Austin Texas
In 2000 I was charged with the crime of burglary of an conveyance for entering a school bus intoxicated that was parked in a bar parking lot. I was young, drunk out of my mind and made a very foolish mistake. I paid dearly for this mistake and learned a great lesson from it! I went through the system, went on probation, did community service, paid many fines, restitution, lawyer fees, ect. When it was all done and said the Judge granted me "withheld adjudication". If you are wondering what that means here is a great description I found online: "A withhold of adjudication is a unique sentencing option that is available to judges in many criminal cases arising out of Florida. It is intended to give first-time offenders and those with a minimal prior criminal history a second chance by avoiding a conviction". In other words I paid my dues to society to the Judges satisfaction thus he did not convict me for the crime I was charged with.
Yet 13 years later I find that this debt that was paid in full is still hanging over my head. Before I go on I want to fast forward 13 years and tell you who I am today. I am a health care professional who helps people with chronic disease live better lives. I volunteer for various organizations and try to help others any time I get the chance. I recently graduated college on May 18th of this year and plan to go back to school in the fall. I have good relationships with my family; friends and anyone who knows me would be completely shocked if they saw my mugshot online. Yes people do stupid things and make mistakes. I am a great example of that. I am also an example that people can also learn from their mistakes, grow up and become productive members of society. I have corresponded with the extortion professionals at bustedmugshots.com tirelessly to get my photo/info removed. I sent them my court records that state I was not convicted of the crime in question. They refuse to take my information off and are demanding a minimum of $98 to remove MY photo and information from their site.
This is flat out extortion, borderline black mail, violation of publicity rights, defamation of character, slander and is in my mind completely criminal behavior. The owner of this seedy business is Kyle Prall, who himself has been arrested several times and has his Mugshot online. If you Google him you can see for yourself.
It is shameful this individual has chosen to make his living at the expense of others. I am only one person whose life he has damaged. There are hundreds, maybe thousands more out there! Many of the people whose mugshots he has posted online for the world to see were only arrested, never convicted (like myself) yet he digs up their pasts and demands money to remove their picture. This is not only humiliating, shameful and hindering to the individual whose mugshots are posted, but also their families. It also affects their career and future. Sites such as these are clearly taking advantage of and exploiting people for personal gain and must be stopped.
