Buttermore and assoc. promised to wipe out the debt i had so I entered into a contract with ayear and 6 months ago. I paid $800 to start and they've use a third party Meracord to draft $468 amonth. In a nutshell i received a phonecall once every 6 month and they did nothing to repay or negotiate a reduction on my credit card debt. Now, I received a letter stating they are going out of business and I'm without representation and fear these credit card companies are going to come after me hard. Buttermore recommends some Otto Berges guy but i don't feel I should trust anything they recommend. I just called them at the number they left and there voicemail is full, please help if possible.  God bless.

When we signed up for these programs for Debt consolidation, relief, settlement, or elimination we set up auto deposit so that the funds are in escrow for the sole purpose of having the funds to settle with our credit card company.

The reason I used this Consumer Debt Legal Group was to qualify for the HOME LOAN MODIFICATION PROGRAM that I had applied for. (I was approved for the OBAMA HLMP)

Had I known it was a scam I would have negotiated directly with my credit card company and paid them directly. My process started September 2010.......my credit score would now be back to my previous 800.

It never ceases to amaze me that people who don't pay their CC bills, can manage to come up with $7K to pay someone else to try and avoid those bills.

" fear these credit card companies are going to come after me hard.  "

If they find out that you've had $468 a month to spend on these guys,  yeah, they might be pissed.

So do you really think hiring someone else to make your debt magically disappear is going to work out?   Do you really think that can even happen (short of bankruptcy)?
