AS SOON AS I LEASED A TRUCK MY MILES WERE CUT IN HALF. I WAS IN MA. WHEN MY TRAILER BRAKES LOCKED UP.

I CALLED ROAD SERVICE. THEY WOULDN'T HELP AND HAD ME DRAG AN EMPTY TRAILER IN JAN DOWN A MOUTAIN TO THE TA. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVE BRAKES WERE DEFECTIVE AND ADVISED C.R. ENGLAND THAT A TECHNICIAN WOULD HAVE KNOWN OF THE PROBLEM IF THE REQUIRED SAFETY INSPECTION WAS DONE PRIOR TO PUTTING THE TRUCK INTO SERVICE. C.R. ENGLANDS RESPONSE WAS IS THIS BILL FOR THE TRAILER OR THE TRUCK? CUZ WE AREN'T PAYING FOR THE TRUCK ( I WAS STILL UNDER THE 30 DAY GRACE). THEY LEFT ME SIT IN MA. FOR SIX DAYS TRYING TO GET SOMEONE TO FIX THE BRAKES.

I ADVISED THAT I QUIT AND WANTED TO GO HOME. TOLD THEM THEY COULD HAVE THIER TRUCK. THEY SEND ME A LOAD TO CA. (I LIVE IN TEXAS) SO DROVE STRAIGHT TO MY HOME AND REMOVED ALL MY PROPERTY AND THEN DROVE THE TRUCK TO THIER DALLAS YARD AND LEFT IT THERE.

THEY HAVE SENT COLLECTION NOTICES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE LEASE (THE TRUCK WAS PUT RIGHT BACK OUT) RECOVERY FEE( FOR WHAT? IT WAS ON THIER PROPERTY) AND I KNOW THEY DIDN'T BOBTAIL THAT TRUCK OVER THE SIERRAS IN JAN SO, THEY PROFITTED FROM IT.

NOW!!!! I FIND OUT THAT THEY ARE TELLING COMPANIES THAT I ABANDONED THE TRUCK. THIS MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND A GOOD JOB.

THERE IS SOOOOO MUCH MORE! I WISH I KNEW HOW TO LOCATE AN ATTORNEY TO HELP ME.

I drove OTR like 2 years. Last place was this little 70-truck company outside Chicago. They didn't do much maintenance. Naturally, a DOT inspection found 2 brakes out of adjustment. The ASAs were never greased. After a long time, they simply freeze up and stop self-adjusting. It cost $125 for the ticket. I let it go. After all, I was making $1000 most weeks. Next settlement check (company driver), I see they hit me with a deduction for getting a ticket because of THEIR no-maintenance nonsense. I was so pissed, I ran home under dispatch. Dropped the truck in their drop yard. Didn't deliver the load. Left it for the local to do. I don't know what they put in my DAC. Something bad, I'm sure. Like I care. That was over a year ago. I haven't driven since. Still have my CDL. No plans to use it. Company driver is no deal. You make $6 to $10 an hour. Hundred hour weeks. And, lease is even worse. Fuel is $2.50 here. Somebody will haul the reefer loads. But, it won't be me. Probably not you either. If you wanna fight, start by getting your DAC. It's USIS now. It's free. Next, search for employment attorney.
