Internet Fraud/Scam

It's funny how she says it's the only incident, but I know of SEVERAL people who haven't gotten paid, or if they did, they got paid after a very long time. And it's funny how she says 90-120 days, but I was told 60-90! Even if it does take 120 days, why have some people not gotten paid within that time frame? Don't give me some lie about MONTHS, because it doesn't take that long, Theresa!

My name is Lupe XXXXXXX. My wife and I have been doing promotions for two years. Most of the companies we work for are out of town, even out of state, we live in San Antonio, Texas. We find most of our jobs on a website called Craigslist. Back in October I saw an ad for a job giving out samples of coffee in the morning at a local Wal-Mart. I replied to the ad with an interest in doing the job. I got a response with information on the job. The email also said that the job paid fifteen dollars an hour and the agency (TNT) paid within thirty to forty five days. Shortly after I began to send emails inquiring about details regarding the job because my wife had received emails and packages for the job. However, I hadn't. I finally got a response just a few days before the job was to be executed. My wife had already begun to do some work for TNT but had not gotten paid yet. So, after we did the job I began to get worried because if my wife had not gotten paid, then I might not get paid either. So I began to pester TNT with emails inquiring about payment. For a long time I got no answer. When I finally did get an answer I was told I had to wait like everyone else and that I needed to stop emailing them or that I would be sued for harassing the company and its employees. The jobs we did ended on December 6, 2006. Not until after January were we sent paperwork to fill out in order to be able to get paid. Then I was notified that I wasn't hired by TNT, but by C Taylor Agency. However, I never even heard of or spoke with C Taylor Agency until jan/feb. I attempted to seek others who had also suffered from this scam, and to inform others so that they would be aware and able to avoid being victims, I received several emails from others who HAD been victimized. Is it slander if it's true? Is it defamation of character if it's true? TNT has paid my wife, but I believe this was done only because we fought back and refused to be victims. If we hadn't made a fuss about payment, my wife would not have gotten paid. If their intention is to pay us then why can't they pay us in a timely manner? C Taylor Agency has sent my wife ONE check, which is small in comparison to what she is owed, but has yet to receive the rest, which she was told, was on its way. I believe that Theresa Cantanese has no intention on paying my wife what she is owed. She stated in one email that I was not to be paid. Out of all the companies we have worked for, this is the ONLY time we have had a problem getting paid! I have attempted to contact the BBB and Attorney Generals offices in their states and the D.O.L. but they can't do anything. If I try to sue her in small claims court here in Texas, she probably won't show. I want both of these women exposed for the frauds and scam artists they are. I want to put a stop to what they do and have been doing for years and prevent them from doing it any further in the future. It is wrong, immoral, and unfair. Who can I turn to? Where can I find justice? Who will help?

Although I don't mind revealing myself to those who wish to help, I ask that my identity be concealed as I continue to do promotional work and would hate to jeopardize the jobs I have lined up and future jobs as well.

Thank you.

you just don't have the guts to put your name behind it, just like the stuff you deleted from complaints board mysteriuosly got deleted after I told you I was contacting the authorities and told your lawyer for you to quit emailing me and harassing me, I did go to the authorities, you should hear from them soon, I can prove everything I ever said and accused you of, YOU can't! the only thing you can do is reveal your maturity by posting malicious things about people. Who did I ever commit fraud to? Who did I ever extort? Prove it! You make all these immature threats and accusation, but you can't PROVE anything. You are the bad and evil person here, not me.

dont let it get to you lupe, consider the sourse! the criminal background looks bogus. look up theresa catanese& her so called agency in the courts in evansville, lol. so what! you had a few dui?? big woop! and it was ages ago, look at all the celebrities with their backgrounds, people dont care, but they do care when the dont get paid. look at her & and her so called agency! this is how she operates. she still owes you for work. how convenient of her, so where did the money go? in her pocket? she is a liar thief and anything but a agent. the woman has no room to talk or post! still does not give her the right not to pay you. theresa catanese is a coward. she wont post her name because she knows everyone will respond. theresa catanese does have something to hide! she uses every excuse & lie to get out of paying her staff. this is just another one of her excuses not to pay you but it is illegal. you did the work. if the background played such a issue of payment then why was your record not checked prior to the jobs you worked? because it was not a issue. only after she was paid did it become a issue. being the thief she is, this is how she operates her business. again, the criminal record looked copied & pasted several times over over again to make it look like you have been charged with several different charges. plus it was ages ago, BIG DEAL TO THE COWARD WHO POSTED! your not a child molester thief or killer so dont let it get to you. theresa of all people should not be posting about dui records. mmmmm, i bet theresa knows someone very close to her with a DUI????? Theresa Catanese & The C Taylor agency has been sued numerous times for non-payment for stealing from her talent after funds were ensured to her care. this still does not give her the right to not pay you. dont worry peoples got her number. she is liar. im sure she has to steal from the talent because she does not get that much work to live off of to support herself. she wants to own a agency becasue that is how she values herself. Theresa Catanese wants to feel needed & wanted, important. something she lacks in her personal life or home life. Theresa has done this before. talk about a extortionist to try to shut you up? whose the one to be shamed?

TNT Are you licensed in Texas?

#9Consumer Comment

Sun, December 07, 2008

for the couple in texas Here is some information for the couple in Texas who had a formal complaint, which clearly violates the bait & switch laws in your texas state. The agency that posted the advertisement is the responsible party for payment and must be licensed in Texas to book or place talent on jobs. Was the license number posted in the craigslist ad? You can file a legal complaint in the state for which you got the promotion. TNT will have to provide the actual pay to prove she never took out what the state law require (10-20%). TNT is also to devulge her license number to operate or book talent in Texas to you upon your request. There are huge fines & penalty charges for those who put up the advertisement in a license state then bait & switch. I would contact TNT to confirm she is indeed licensed & bonded to book talent in the Texas state or check with your state below. If TNT would rebuttal with her Texas license that would clear this up immediately. I noticed other complaints in other states that require a license as well. LICENSING 1. Who is required to hold a registration? A person by any name or title who is in the business of obtaining or attempting to obtain employment for artists, including a person that counsels or directs an artist in the development of the artist's professional career. Advertisements placed in Texas and/or websites do not trigger the Texas talent agency registration requirements without the performance of a service described under the Act at a place of business or temporary location in Texas. 2. Why should l use a licensed Talent Agency? Using a licensed Talent Agency is for your protection against fraud and/or misrepresentation. Using a licensed Talent Agency insures that they have complied with the licensing and bonding requirements required by this State. Talent Agencies must post a surety bond to fulfill the bonding requirements. 3. How much is the registration? A certificate of registration application fee is $400. 4. How do I get a Talent Agency registration? You will need to complete a Talent Agency Certificate of Registration Application, provide a surety bond and the $400.00 licensing fee. The application and regulations are available on our website at www.license.state.tx.us/TAL/talent.htm. This information will need to be mailed to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, P.O. Box 12157 , Austin , Texas 78711 . 5. How long is my Certificate of Registration good for? A certificate of registration is valid for one year after the date of issuance. You will receive a renewal notice prior to expiration; however it is the registrant's responsibility to renew their registration in a timely manner. 6. What is the surety bond for? The surety bond protects the consumer against fraud and misrepresentation. 7. How do I get a surety bond? First contact your insurance agent. They should be able to contact a bonding company and write it for you. If they cannot refer you, check in the phone book under 'bonding companies'. 8. What is the required amount of the surety bond? The surety bond must be in the amount of $10,000 and payable to the State. 9. Is there another method of security that can be used? No. Occupations Code, Chapter 2105 and the department's rules under Title 16, Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 78 require a talent agency to obtain a $10,000 surety bond. 10. Are modeling schools required to hold a talent agency registration? No. Modeling schools are regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission. 11. My registration has expired, what do I do to get it back? If your Certificate of Registration has been expired for 1 to 90 days after expiration, then the renewal fee will be $600.00. If your certificate of registration has been expired for 91 days to 1 year after expiration, then the renewal fee will be $800.00. After one year, you will be required to reapply by submitting a new application and the required fee. 12. How can I get a list of Talent Agencies in my area? You may access our Licensing Database on our website and download a list of the licensed Talent Agencies. 13. How can I tell if a company is registered? You may search the Licensing Database on our website or you may contact the department at 800-803-9202 ( Texas only) or 512-463-6599. ENFORCEMENT 1. How do I file a complaint against a licensee? To file a complaint, you may download the Complaint Form from our website at www.license.state.tx.us or contact the department at 800-803-9202 ( Texas only) or 512-463-6599. 2. Can they charge me an up-front fee? Occupations Code, Chapter 2105.201 prohibits advance or registration fees that are a condition of a talent agency's registration or representation of you. TNT Management L.L.C. Legal Name, Business Procedures HONEST AGENCY

#10REBUTTAL Owner of company

Sun, November 02, 2008

TO START: TNT Management, L.L.C. is incorporated in the state of Iowa. 490DLC-000354444 TNT Management is owned and operated by Tina Norris. No other company name, business or individual has the rights to claim ownership or use this company business name in any form of advertising, promotional or written format without my consent. You, and many others, have taken a legally filed business name and "changed" the owners and business listing without my consent. CTaylor Agency, CTA Events, Theresa Cantanese is a SEPARATE business, not united, not legally franchised, not affiliated nor in partnership or any way connected through TNT Management L.L.C. Verify your facts through state records FIRST before filing false complaints. The name has not changed, the owner (myself) has never changed and the business has existed 15 years with an impeccable reputation. To be in business, especially in this volatile industry 15 years speaks volumes. Read supporting documentation to help further educate you on how a Talent Agency screens or hires candidates - Please note paragraph 2, sentence #2: A talent agent, or booking agent, is a person who finds jobs for actors, musicians, models, and other people in various entertainment businesses. Agents make their money by taking a percentage of the money that their client is paid. There are different regulations that govern different types of agents that are established by artist's unions and the legal jurisdiction in which the agent operates. There are also professional organizations that license talent agencies. An agent has two sets of clients: the "talent" (actors, models, voice-over artists, etc) and the "buyer". The buyer can be a casting director, advertising agency, production company, photographer, or direct client if the client has an "in-house" production staff. Agents promote talent to the buyers, submitting talent that have the appropriate age, race, sex, look, talent, etc. that the buyer is seeking for his/her project. Usually, an agent submits the actor's head shot or the model's composite card or portfolio to the buyer. After buyer make choices, the agent then arranges an audition (or for models, a "go-see" or open call). After the buyer has met the talent, the buyer will contact the agent if any of the talent will be hired. The agent will coordinate the details of wardrobe, directions, etc as well as negotiate the contract or pay. Note that the agent's job is to get the talent auditions; the talent is the only one who can get the job. For their work, agents take a 10 to 20% commission of the gross, depending if the job is union (such as SAG-AFTRA) or not. Union jobs are paid per negotiated guidelines, but sometimes in non-union jobs the pay is delayed. A well established agent will have a number of contacts. A BRIEF HISTORY OF HOW THE LAW EVOLVED The reason this strict law developed, being centered here and the California legislature's historic concern for the welfare of the artists in those industries. California has a specific Talent Agency Act. The original law developed out of the 1913 Private Employment Agencies Law, which included specific regulation of theatrical employment agencies and theatrical contracts. In 1923 that was amended to allow the Labor Commissioner to make rules and regulations, and gave the Labor Commissioner initial jurisdiction to hear and determine all controversies, subject to appeal to the Superior Court on a trial de novo (new trial) basis. Since then, the California Labor Commissioner's office has been heavily involved in the licensing and regulation of talent agencies. In 1937 the Private Employment Law was incorporated into the California Labor Code and in 1943 "Artists' Managers" became a separate category for regulation. In 1959 the "Artists' Managers Act" became its own separate Chapter of the Labor Code. This reflected the growing awareness by the legislature that the business of procuring employment in the entertainment industry, as the industry itself, is different and in many ways more complex than the business of normal employment agencies. The growing confusion over who and what to regulate in the entertainment industry was fueled by the development of the "personal manager" profession, which as the term implies, often finds this kind of manager personally involved in all aspects of the artists' career, including (and not the least important to the artist) the procurement of a record contract. In part to avoid the growing confusion of terms between the "personal managers" and the employment or "talent" agents, the "Artists' Managers Act" evolved into the "Talent Agency Act" in 1978, and the old "Artists' Managers" started being referred to as "Talent Agencies". The legislature was struggling with the distinction between a "talent agency", engaged "in the occupation of procuring, offering, promising or attempting to procure employment or engagements for an artist or artists" and who "may, in addition, counsel or direct artists in the development of their professional careers", and those strictly "personal managers" who may counsel and direct artists and do a lot of other things but who are not supposed to deal with employment, unless they become a licensed "talent agent". THIRD: By law, a valid, legal complaint should filed against a company. Filing a complaints against individuals, specifically a p/t staff employee that is a MINOR. There are laws for all businesses and laws through-out the United States that protect employees of companies from being liable for individual complaints such as yours. In addition, to exploit a minor in this manner and name this individual in your complaint has violated HER civil rights. She is in High School! Your complaint is and will be dealt with through the owner (myself) and through the corporation of TNT Management L.L.C. Involvement of TNT Management staff names and identities for you to exploit for personal satisfaction or vindictive measures is strictly prohibited.
