I made an gift order through Etsy recently, only for the recipient received damaged goods. The items were melted and crushed. Upon inspection by the recipient they were improperly packaged for shipment (the box they were in was unsecured in a larger box, and the macarons themselves were in ziplock baggies inside the gift box; allowing them to just rattle around).

I tried to notify the seller (yes an angry email, but rightfully so). They refused to acknowledge that they improperly shipped them, but offered to replace with something of equal value. I epressed that they could chose whatever they wanted to send, but what I wanted was an apology for me and the recipient for the poor packaging. They even went so far as to imply that I and the recipient were lying to get freebees (I didn't ask for any; just real acknowledgment that they messed up instead of blaming everyone else). Most of this, including the packaging can be up for debate, however it is nothing compared to what I discovered.

This emailing goes back and forth and then she cancels the order to try an step out on Etsy fees and to stop me from leaving bad feedback on her shop. its a common practice apparently with seasoned unscrupulous sellers.

For that reason I am writing here. Customer service is abysmal, and full of excuses. I needed to leave feedback. Notice her feedback score is perfect? Its because she doesn't let anyone leave bad feedback; there's no way for consumers to know how many times she has manipulated the system. DO NOT TRUST THIS SELLER. HER ETSY FEEDBACK IS FRAUDULENT AND A LIE. She argues that it consists of real people, but what she fails to mention is that its not everyone that wants or should have had the opportunity to leave feedback.

I'm currently working with Etsy support to have her selling practices investigated and have made a report with the Better Business Bureau.
