California Cycles, CLASSY Cycles Electric Cart and Scooter Rental Scam Panama City Beach Florida
California Cycles rents out electric carts, scooters and small motorcycles which allure tourist with the idea of cruising the streets of PCB while on vacation. The scam is simple in our case. They rent electric carts for $150 dollars plus a $100 deposit. The $100 deposit is refunded contigent upon returning the vehicle with a full charge. After riding on and off for about two hours the battery needs recharged. This is the keypoint of the scam, because while on vacation you won't have enough time to recharge the vehicle since the rental is due for return at 10am the next morning. Even thou I stopped at another one of their stores and charged the vehicle for 2 hours (which didn't do anything) and charged it for another 5 hours overnight which only got it up to half way on the meter, your deposit will be gone. The manager basically looks and acts like a Hell's Angels biker and wasted my time making me wait for 30 minutes to not change the outcome of the situation. It's just not worth the money.
