CALLWAVE, Inc ripoff - Fraudulent Company Practices Santa Barbara California
I received a bill from CALLWAVE, Inc claiming that we owed them $3.95 for the month of May.
They claimed that I had downloaded their "Busy Call Forwarding" service off the internet. I didn't and wouldn't since my phone service provides that service.
Their customer service department asked me to leave a message and they would call me back. They didn't.
I called my phone company and they told me that that company had called and informed them that I wanted the service. They cancelled the service and promised to report the problem to their complaints department.
Today I received a computer generated call claiming to be my phone company saying that my "Busy Call Forwarding" was now in service.
I called my phone company and they did not call me and the service had not been reactivated. They are investigating the call to see if they can verify who called me using their name.
I am reporting this scam to the Attorney General of West Virginia.
I will not pay the bill! Don't let them get away with this!
