Been a client of this company for over 15 years, and been using their software/hardware with ton of bugs all along.  Every time had a problem with the software, had to call tech support, leave a message and wait for someone to call back between 24-48 hours, and that is someone who has hardly any knowledge of how to fix the problem.  Not to mention at one time the tech support told me you have to blowout your whole drive and loose ALL data, where the problem was just looking a bit harder into the situation and finding the problem, which my friend who's a technician and had no knowledge of CON Commerce software, but plenty of common sense got it fixed within 15 minutes.

So I was experiencing a problem with the program, called tech support, and told me that they no longer support this particular software (Retail Ice), so I have to purchase a contract of $59.99 per month for the rest of the time I'm planning to keep my POS system, or $90 per 15 minutes.  So, purchased the $59.99 plan, called the tech support the gentleman asked if the date/time on my computer was correct, which wasn't, changed it to the correct month, and problem solved in 10 seconds flat.

When spoke to my sales rep to prorate me for the service and cancel my contract, she refereed me to the finance department (Patti Russel).  When contacted her, very angrily she accused me of wanting to ripping off the company and refused to prorate the charges. So, left me with two options of either pay $90 (for 10 seconds of not even real technical assistance-just suggesting to check your computer's date) and terminate the contract or continue to pay $59.99 for as long as you keep the software!!!

Bottom line, Horrible company to deal with, as far as their software are full of bugs, and they know it, horrible tech support, and know how to rip you off when they have you at corner, with your back to the wall and no where to go, except being at their mercy just because you can't stop your business and need their assistance fixing their own bugs and problems.

I am switching over to Microsoft RMS system, which as oppose to CON commerce is windows and user friendly and highly NOT RECOMMEND Con Commerce aka/Cam Commerce Solutions.

         CAM provided FREE software to small retailers in the hopes this would allow new retailers to hit the ground running with their new business and mitigate the expensive of purchasing a POS software package.
         CAMs FREE software offered FREE technical support via online web communities, that was managed by CAMs technical support department.  Efforts were made to respond to postings within 24 hours.
         CAMs FREE software provided a call back technical support offering, of which CAM was committed to returning calls within 48 hours.
         As the retailers business expanded CAM offered a more robust multi-user, multi-store package.
         After close to 10 years of offering this FREE option, CAM had to rethink this strategy given the enormous economic pressures in todays business world.
         CAM continues to offer a scaled down version of our robust multi-user multi-store software under a software subscription plan.
         While we recognize this change in strategy was not welcomed by a few  of those users of our FREE software it was a change necessary to keep business needs inline.
