thanks for the info sylvia. just curious, and at this point there's certainly no harm in their calling & leaving a no nothing sort of message. well, except a 20 year old stale debt is still pretty stale. and a waste of their time to chase after.

If sCAMCO sold any paper to another collection agency, it seems that would have to have happened before the FTC went in and shut them down. The debts would have been considered assets, or maybe evidence, and the assets have been frozen. Since last week's closing, sCAMCO hasn't been in a position to sell anything. At least, a lot of people know what to do if another fraudulent outfit tries the same thing as sCAMCO.
