Unfortunately, the credit card company will only accept your complaint of "unauthorized activity" if you never provided your credit card/ bank account number to the company in question. If you signed up for the 30-day free trial when receiving a free copy of your credit report and provided your account number of your own free will, it is authorized activity until you take responsibility for your actions and contact the company to cancel the subscription. From the bank's point of view charges to your account can only be treated as fraud or unauthorized activity if you never did business with the company or provided your account number. In a situation like MNI*CREDITREPORT.CO or MNI*CREDITRPT SERVICES where the customer signed up for the free trial and did not cancel before the end of the 30-day trial period, the bank can only assist with charges if they continue to post after the subscription is cancelled. Understand that this is not a policy of any individual bank, but the billing dispute policies of Mastercard and Visa.
