I was also contacted by www.cap-lending.net. They gave me the same routine about sending $700 as security for the $5,000 loan and they would have me wire it to a private lender. Well, I work in a law firm and was somewhat skeptical of their faxed contract. It lacked significant amounts of boilerplate language that usually comes with a loan, and it looked as though the letter head was home made out of MS Word. I went to www.godaddy.com and searched for the site to find out the name of the contact person. I have sent him an e-mail (Matt Bruner from North Carolina) to confirm that he knows of the site. I also went to Oregon's State Government home page and searched their registered corporations thourgh their department of state web site (most states have these). Their corporation did not show up. Then I checked the legal disclaimer links at the bottom of the site and none were working. This all seemed too fishy to me so I didn't deal with the company. Still, these are easy research tasks that you can do to try to confirm the existance of a company. Good Luck!!!
