CAMCO contacted me recently about a credit card debt from 1990 and offered me the chance to settle for half the amount or set up a convenient payment plan. Fortunately, I knew about something called the statute of limitations and I simply told them that since the statute of limitations on the debt they were referring to had already run out years ago, I wasn't going to pay them. I asked them to stop calling me. The woman I talked to said she would keep calling until I paid and I just hung up the phone. Their whole game was a big bluff. They were probably hoping I didn't know about the statute of limitations and would send them money. Businesses like these are a bunch of f*&&^%g parasites.
