This "employee rebuttle" is false, because I've had my car financed through Capital One for over 2 years and once when I was out of town on business they called my cell claiming they hadn't recieved my check. I talked to whoever was handling my account and told them they should have recieved payment, but at the least I'd be back in town the following Monday and check my bank statement. They said that was fine, they'd call me the following week and make a note on my account. I had my phone on silent the next day while in meetings, and they called my cell 23 times! 10 in the span of one hour, no joke. I've found this company, above and beyond ANY I have ever dealt with, to have horribly crass customer service reps and a generally ignorant way of handling things. this isn't my ONLY story regarding them, but it's the one that pertains. I hope the employee is getting paid well enough to spin his company's poor customer service which is WELL reknowned.

I have been with capital one for 3 monthes now, and am totally satisfied. I am a 21 year old un-married mother who really needed a car but had insufficient credit to get a loan from most other companies. I am very statisfied with them. I have not gotten one phone call from them. At the same time though, I have made my payments on time. My fiancee also financed through Capital One. He got a letter stating that the gace period was TEN DAYS.. maybe people are upset they didn't get a grace period beyond the grace period. He has called in on the 10th day of the grace period a couple times to make a payment and was never charged. People need to realize they had to go to Capital one because they had bad credit, and there is a reason they had bad credit, because payments weren't made on time. They are just protecting themselves. Look at it from their point of view. They gave you money when you were in a bad position, so you need to be gracious and pay them back! This will improve your credit so in the future you can have beter interest rates, and more options.

To avoid calls and a recovery agent coming to your house, make your car payment on time. If a collector calls you, answer the phone or return the call. They will not keep calling. Your situation is unfortunate, but because you are off work and not getting your child support does not mean you don't have to make the payment. The contract you signed, you agreed to make a monthly payment on a certain due date each month. Capital One like any other finance company is not breaking the law by trying to collect on the past due debt you owe to them. If payments are made on time, you won't be bothered. Its as simple as that.
