Car Movers USA - Tonne Transport ripoff changing price, not having my contact info, wanting money before car is delivered, screaming at me for their own mistakes Murphy's Burrow Tennessee
This involves Car Movers USA and Anthony (the boss) in particular.
Initially I dealt with Jackie Goldstein but she is M.I.A. ever since they got my deposit.
We had a contract - $990 car gets shipped from Ramona Ca to Newport Rhode Island (to my door).
Couldn't get Jackie to call me back after numerous messages so that I could know in advance of the day that they would drop off the car.
So they call the day they are dropping it off (never ever ever got a return call from Jackie) and want more money for a fuel charge (a surcharge which is not on the contract) I say let me look into it so now they won't bring the car.
AFter two thousand phone calls to them (all of them including the driver who had it in New York which is three-four hours away from Newport RI) they are screaming at me to send them the balance BEFORE THEY DROP OFF THE CAR. Which leaves me in an uncomfortable situation because I have no idea who they are, whether they will bring the car, whether they will damage my car etc.
Anthony spoke to me like I was an idiot when evidently he gave my incorrect name and number to Tonne. Barry at Tonne had a mental breakdown on the phone because he was so mad at having to find me - because Anthony was unable to get my name or number correct when giving him my business.
So these two are pissed, have my car, want me to send money, have changed the price, when our contract stated that the car would be C.O.D. and paid for UPON DELIVERY.

Tonne Transport has been in business for 21 years, we do not tack on charges to for know reason. We have never had anyone working here by the name Anthony. Maybe the broker this person went through told her one price and booked the vehicle with us at a different price. Also we do add charges if people pack there cars with belongings trying to ship things for free. If people do not take there cars when they get there and they have to go to terminal, we have to add the cost of the terminal charges. We have shipped 100's of thousands of vehicles, we are not out to rip anyone off. My parents run this company and are some of the kindest honest people you would ever meet. They would not steal from someone , period! The fact that we have been in business for so long speaks for itself.
