we were dedicated loyal employees that have worked for cardoza creations for 9-12 years. we just found out that they have not payed or filed our payroll taxes, edd, social security. they had a custom built home with all the extravigant luxuries one could only dream of, with our money for our retirement, disability, unemployment, etc.

We told irs, we told the district attorney we dont get any help. dont let this happen to you. they are liars and ripe offs. if anyone knows how we can get justice, let us know thank you

Wow Keri!! You were in Germany when all of this went down, and don't EVEN have a clue of what was going on. NEVER was I given Power of Attorney of ANYTHING. Gayle put me on the checking account for the sole purpose of sighing checks for her so she didn't have to come in and do it. I ONLY sighed checks that were authorized by her! The IRS checks were put in HER desk drawer as requested by her when the payroll checks arrived in the mail. She was the bookkeeper! I had NOTHING to do with the bookeeping! The IRS checks were NEVER mailed! It was her that was to take the IRS (Federal Deposit) checks to the bank to be paid. I only did it if she requested me to do so. She had FULL control of the checking account. I just signed payroll, and paid bills as requested. That is all! I NEVER EVER copied checks or Rip ANY up. That is just insane! They had no legal action against me because I didn't do ANYTHING illegal! Don't forget, I was an owners daughter too, my dad, Richard "Cardoza" until he died in a hunting accident. I did my best, but I couldn't take the poor business practices that were happening anymore. The IRS paper you talk about that I had, it was given to me by someone that found it in Public Records. Your parents got ALL of their mail; I wasn't even there anymore when that happened. GET A LIFE KERI AND PLEASE STAY OUT OF MINE! Like I said: YOU DON'T HAVE A CLUE! This is so over! Move on. I have!

I used to work for Cardoza Creations before Jan came on board. Back when it was small time in the garage. I was there when Jan came aboard and for a short time after. I am the owner's daughter. I happen to know that Jan had power of attorney for payroll taxes and that she photocopied the checks that were "mailed" to the IRS and then ripped up the original and doctored the accounts so that my parents thought the taxes were taken out. Jan has 100% control over the management as my parents trusted her like a daughter. They treated her better than any employer should have. She was treated like family. Unfortunately, because my parents trusted her enough to give her power of attorney, they had no legal action against her. Don't believe crap from people who got caught doing the wrong thing trying pass the blame. It was entirely Jan's intention (as she photocopied all files) to start a new, similar company by trying to take my parent's clients with her. She was caught because the clients of Cardoza Creations are loyal and know honest people when they see it. Jan faxed information from the IRS (she collected and witheld all correspondence to hide knowledge of pending IRS action against my parents) to the clients of Cardoza Creations. This is how she got caught..they called my parents at home and let them know that Jan was trying to destroy their reputation and take their clients. I've never met a more hard working person with a more honest work ethic than Kreg Brawley. He should be an example of what an American Bussinessman should strive to emulate!!!!

reguardless of what you are all saying, this company kept and spent all of ours, payroll taxes for the last 4 years. that has been proven. it is wrong and illeagal. yes, she was going to fire us, only because we exposed her of her bad practices. i quit. cari was asked to stay to train someone. if she is now paying back into our funds, great, then we have accomplished what we wanted. our taxes to be paid and our social secuirty paid up. you should be thanking us instead of bashing us, because now your taxes are being paid up too because we spoke up. just remember one thing; she caused all of this by not paying our payroll taxes. it had nothing to do with us. had she paid like she is suppose to, none of this would have happened. being behind is one thing, but 4 years? very wrong! now let's get on with our lives. thank you.

..Deception The reason these two girls left here is because they knew they were going to be fired. The reason was because they were trying to run this business into closure. Which they d**n near did! Cari really needed her job, and asked to stay here for a while. She agreed to train someone new until the end of January 03. She left early because she found another job that started asap. They both asked for a raise two weeks before the owner found out what was happening...and got it!!They were still telling three of us IRS would be closing us any minute. NOT TRUE!! They told us if we had anything personal to take it home. They really had us convinced we were going to be shut down. They were still employed here when they took out a business license for a business of their own....with all the knowledge they took from here. Yes, I work here!! Arlena

we as former employees of this business do think they are nice people. yes they did treat us like family. maybe that is why they "borrowed" our employee funds. i thank them for all they have done. however, what if i die tomarrow? my 2 year old daughter will not have the social security benefits that was taken out of all of my paychecks. if making this report helps get this paid, then great. as for what i do for a living has NOTHING to do with my funds. i would like all bs slander to stop as of now. this is my last file on this matter, i repeat, last file on this matter. also, i thank all parties at this business for taking care of this money that is owed to us. ps yes i do have legal documentation on all facts. but from now on, they are put away forever because i think the owners are trying to make good. thank you GB. i wish the best to both parties.

Purposely distorting the facts to enhance start-up business' chances of success

#11UPDATE EX-employee responds

Wed, March 19, 2003

I am a former employee of the person(s) being accused in this report. The people that are trying to distort their so called facts, themselves are guilty of taking the generosity of the owners and betraying their trust. The persons filing this report are attempting to start up their own business, with designs they copied or learned while working for the owners of the business they are accusing. These so called employees also allowed competitive investors to TOUR the manufacturing facility to help enhance their chances of capitalizing on company product designs, equipment needs, and to attempt to lure away current employees. They did this while collecting their paychecks, with raises, and nice perks, with no complaining or accusations. The accusers also were in charge of filing some of the payments they are accusing the owners of not making,as they were the manager and asst manager, and now they are acting shocked and hurt, when in all likelyhood they were the ones responsible for the payments not being processed and mailed on time. Beleive who you wish, they do not have all the documentation they CLAIM to have. Also there are many, many more people that would stand up and dispute this slander and vouch for the owners! This is purely a case of petty, greedy, former employees taking advantage of the people that treated them better than family, and now are slandering and defaming the hand that fed them for so long. Ask for Justice? First you have to know what that means, these accusatory thieves have no clue

We are working very closely with the IRS to get caught up and are very close to having that accomplished.

Purposely Hurtful! I work for the company called Cardoza Creations. I do the book work now, and I know for a fact the bills are being paid! The owners of this business had a family emergency last year, spending a great deal of time in a hospital with a sick child. The people that have filed this report are the ones that were bringing their new business partners into this business, talking to the employee's about leaving this company and working for them, during this crisis. I'm afraid that in order to suceed in their new business they have to distroy this business. They are using the delay in the tax payments to justify purposly trying to destroy people that were nothing but kind to them. They never once did anything to intentionally hurt their employee's, and they are doing the very best they can to rectify the problem that ALL of the employee's were aware of. We are working very closely with the IRS to get caught up and are very close to having that accomplished. I don't know how anyone could expect to suceed in business by purposely hurting someone they suposedly cared about.

your facts need to be corrected

#13UPDATE EX-employee responds

you may know these "owners" personally, however you do not know there business tactics. we know for a fact that the taxes have not been paid for 4 years. we have legal documentation to prove that. also the edd reports have not been caught up because 2 other ex- employees and my self have filed for unemployment and the highest quarter earnings were in 2001. how can that be when we receive raises in 2002? then the other ex employee did not work since may ? when in fact the worked untill november. then in the final meeting with the owner before the employees left, she openly stated to all employees, that she did not pay these taxes at the time because they infact had the house built and could not afford to pay the taxes yet. another thing what about a wage garnishment that she took out of an employees check and failed to pay the DA with that money. then he had intrest put on that because of lack of payment. we have legal documentation from the DA's office stating that also. all of the above has absolutely NOTHING to do with our trying to make a living. thank and that is all i have to say.

friend of the company ..other things in the report are not true

#14UPDATE Employee

Mon, March 17, 2003

I am a personal friend of the owners that this report is directed to, and i would like to say that some of the things that are in that report are in fact true. the fact of the matter is that other things in the report are not true, the taxes that this person is talking about are a little behind but only by about a year and half NOT four years. The money that is said to be owed to EDD is and has been paid off for about two months. I truly beleive that the person making this report is trying to break up this company so that their company they have recently started (that will be a competitor) will prosper. and one more thing the owners of the business is question do have a nice big house, but it is far from being extravagant and having the amenities that only one could dream of.

File a complaint with the Department of Labor and the EDD

#16Consumer Suggestion

Thu, January 16, 2003

Hello-- You need to file a complaint immediately with the Department of Labor and the EDD in California. It is quite possible this company was declaring you as 1099 employees (independant contractors). If that is the case, you would be responsible for paying the 15% social security tax, which is split between employees and employers in W-2 situations (split so each side pays 7.5% into the kitty). You DON'T want to be declared a 1099 unless you really are one. Besides paying more social security tax, your entire tax situation changes, and there are other things you need to file. It is possible for the company to report you to the IRS as a 1099 and not send you a copy. Lookout if that happens--you might get audited three years down the road, with the IRS wondering why you didn't declare that money the company says you made. There are worksheets to determine if you were a regular employee or a 1099 employee. The Department of Labor can help you with that. The wheels grind slowly, and there are forms to fill out, but it is important for you to pursue this so that you get credit for not only your social security, but so that the company gets fined up the wazoo for illegal practices.
