I checked my online statement today to find that ALL of my Promotional Purchases, 8 in total, have been terminated and $911 in interest was added to my account, and Care Credit's overseas, foreign Customer Service Department told me this is because I have two late payments in the past year. It appears that no matter how many times you make a payment in any given month, it is not applied to the next due date.

Example: I made 3 payments in May 2009, and the last payment on 5/29 was intended to pay Junes bill that was due by the 13th. I made another online payment June 14th. This actual payment in June is the only June payment Care Credit "applied" toward my June payment, and therefore I paid my bill 1 day late....LATE CHARGE. What should have happened, but I guess I didn't check the little calendar to pick the date, is the 5/29/09 payment was made on Friday, and 6/1/2009 was Monday. I find it very hard to believe this payment cleared my bank the same day. Funny how the next "business day" is the 1st of the next month, and also was the same month's payment I intended the payment to be for.

Care Credit's overseas, foreign Customer Service told me there is no way to accept advance payments. My online account information states "To avoid finance charges on any deferred promotions, pay-off the initial purchase on or BEFORE the promotional expiration date." WAIT: their overseas, foreign Customer Service told me there is no way to accept advance payments, and if thats the case, how can you pay your promotional purchases off BEFORE the expiration date?

My supposed second late payment was in October 2009, and this supposedly terminated all my promotional purchases, so why was my January 2010 statement still reflecting them as active? Why did it take Care (not) Credit 5 months to terminate these promotions? The terminations did not appear until this billing cycle for the March 2010 payment.

When I call Customer Service I always seem to get a representative in India. I am sick and tired of trying to talk to some person in some foreign country, and when you ask to speak to someone in the US, they conveniently can't transfer you. I sincerely hope there are members of the news media, lawyers looking to file Class Action lawsuits, somebody looking at these complaints. I will more than gladly attempt to help fight the fight to get Care Credit put out of business.

I read my statements, thank you very much.

I have a MAJOR problem with how the promotional purchases on my account were terminated 5 MONTHS AFTER the supposed second late payment. I went through my records and documented the day and date my online payments were actually made to compare to the dates these payments were actually posted to my account. Out of the 20 payments I made to that point in time, only 11 were posted to my account the same date I paid them online. That equals only 55% of my online payments posted the same date the payment was made, and 45% were posted 1 to 2 days AFTER my online payment was made. One of the late charges was posted on the due date and should not have counted as a late payment. The other one was posted one day late, and if this were to be counted as a late payment, it should have been the first one.

Regardless, I wrote a letter to Care Credit with all of the supporting information and documentation, and they did reinstate all of my promotional purchases. I guess I proved my point or they wouldn't have given me the credit back for the interest they charged nor would they have put the promotions back into place. They also refunded my late fees. If I truly had late payments I would not have gotten those fees refunded. My resolution came out of their El Paso, TX (USA) office - not their Customer Service phone line. My opinion of Care Credit dramatically improved since they responded in a positive way and worked with me.

Per your acct terms and conditions you had to make at least a minimum payment each billing cycle correct?  If these terms were not met, then the CC company can terminate any promotions as long as they give you notice.  For Care Credit, your notice would have been in the monthly statement that listed your 2nd late fee and you would have also been given an opt out period which would have "protected" your promotion.  Read your statements!
