It's no secret that people will take advantage of those who are desperate. Legitimate employment agencies, or headhunters if you prefer, do not ask for funds up-front to find people jobs. The customary arrangement involves employers paying the agencies to screen and seek qualified candidates for jobs that they offer. Any employment agency that asks you to pay up-front is very likely to be a complete scam, as you found out the hard way. The only way to put these kind of people out of business is to stop giving them your money. Let them find gainful employment and they will then be forced to be honest. Nothing is absolute and nothing is ever guaranteed. You have to do a little research on any employer you are considering, and you have to do double the amount of research on those who are asking you to give them your money. All you ever have to do to find out the good and bad on any established company or entity is to Google them. Add the word "complaints" to the name of the entity. If they are scam artists, you'll like see a reference to this site almost immediately. If you can't find a thing listed in any search engines under the name of the business, then you're likely dealing with a brand new scam. If a website that you are visiting has no information as to exactly where they are physically located, then you're likely dealing with a scam. If what you read about a business is largely negative in nature, who in their right mind would take a chance that they too will not be ripped off? Some things are simple common sense.
