Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I also went job searching on Yahoo and monster, only to be inundated with these "job" offers. I fell for it , and filled out the forms , and after about the 3rd one, all with different "names" of recruiting companys, another is The Job Orbit. They think they are slick, but if you look closely at the site you can see thier shoddy job of making the page, and every one looks the same really. I am sick of people taking advantage of people who are not doing anything but searching for a job. Ughhhh!!!

CN you are STILL not addressing the most vital tell-tale sign that you are not legitimate. It went asked and UNanswered... Why on Earth could you possibly want to know who someone's cel phone carrier is? ALSO... from my own observations, why do you have so many shell identities that all generate from your main career network website? Are they little private anonymous operations under your umbrella? That doesn't exactly instill confidence among consumers. If your business plan makes everyone smell a rat, it sounds like you need to rethink your business plan. If you'll pardon my metaphor, what it REALLY seems like is a very legitimate-sounding restaurant (Chez Career Network) in a big building with a LOT of little kitchens serving many customers... so when someone DOES smell a rat, Chez Career Network can say "It's not MY kitchen... just my restaurant"... otherwise why else conduct business this way. And before you explain this away please remember two things... 1) Address the Cel Carrier issue FIRST 2) Regardless of your business plan philosophy or your opinion of my metaphor, your consumers STILL SMELL A RAT, and THAT needs to be addressed.

First, regarding the issue with programming requirements listed on the job ad: The requirements for the job are provided by the employer and cleaned up by copywriters in our communications department. They are at the mercy of the information provided by the employer and do the best they can with what they are given. If the programs were erroneous, the error originated with the employer. Like many recruiters, we obtained your information through other internet job boards where you indicated a desire to be contacted for positions. If you no longer want to be contacted, I suggest you no longer allow your resume to be viewed by employers (which includes recruiters). Instead, you may be more comfortable manually managing your job search, and only actively apply to positions that interest you. We understand if you do not wish to apply for a position through our company. The internet has opened up many fresh avenues for businesses to explore that many consumers are reticent to engage with these innovative companies. In time, we're sure our practices will become standard and not appear as frightening to you as they currently do, and we hope at that time we can win your trust. Thank you for dialogging with us, we do take all suggestions, both good and bad, to heart and constantly strive to improve our business.

I'm very skeptical dispite the explanation provided. I'm an internet programmer and recieved an email about a Video Game Development position. Of course, no phone number, PO Box address, etc. I composed a reply expressing my interest and doubt - I have NEVER heard of a game being developed using the technologies they allege they needed - and the email bounced back. Undeliverable. I should add that I have never heard of mycareerstore before receiving this email. I never asked them to contact me. This unsolicited email came across as very unprofessional, uninformed, and disorganized. The fact that I received this at all indicates unscrupulous methods of obtaining data - and constitutes SPAM, best case scenario. There was NO phone number on their website. Period. No names of people employed by the company. No address of a physical office. These are big tip-offs that the perpetrators seem to have something to hide. A link in the email took me to a web form... Where my CELL PHONE CARRIER was a required field. Ever been asked about that in a job interview? I don't trust these people. The appearance that they want to avoid direct communication with job seekers implys that they have NO INTEREST in the well-being or satisfaction of their so-called target market. There is nothing I've seen, including the defensive response here, that would suggest that there is an honest business here. IF this stuff is legit (which I would BET AGAINST) - They have very unsavory business practices which I will NEVER support or condone in any way - least of all by getting involved with them. If we vote with our dollar in a capitalist society, I will not contribute to the success of this spam factory (or scammer) by even entertaining filling out thier introductory form.

I'm sorry that you feel our recruitment practices are not meeting your needs. I'm sure this is only due to a misunderstanding of us and our business. Allow me to clear up any confusion by explaining who we are and what it is we exactly do. Career Network is a new job board that is free to use by both job seekers and employers. Currently, there are thousands of jobs throughout the country available for application on our network of employment sites. We actively market those opportunities to individuals who have previously expressed interest in receiving employment offers. This works as a benefit for our corporate clients as we actively reach hundreds of potential applicants who had not previously been introduced to the opportunity through traditional job ads. To keep our services free to both job seekers and employers we do offer advertising verticals on the site. However they are completely voluntary and do not in any way affect job seekers' consideration for the listed employment opportunities. We act only as an intermediary between the applicants and the hiring companies, and do not interfere with the delivery of submitted resumes for any reason. To do so would jeopardize our relationships not only with our corporate clients but our advertising partners as well. Once those resumes are delivered, the rest of the process is solely in the hand of the employer. The decision to hire, not hire, contact, etc. is theirs alone. If they receive a large amount of resumes, they may require extra time to respond to the applicants who did not make the cut. From personal experience, I have received that letter as long as six months after I applied for a position. We do have a contact phone number for employers listed on the employer section of our Web site. However, that will get you in contact with our account managers who have no control over the status of your application. Like I said, that decision is out of our hands. If you are having technical issues accessing the site, please use the email provided. Furthermore, let me assure you that nothing will be done with your personal information that you do not expressly authorize. Foremost, since you are applying for a position, your resume will be transmitted to the employer who will then consider you for a job based solely on your skills and education. Beyond that, we will only connect you with our promotional partners if you agree to it during the application process. I hope this clears up any confusion you may have regarding our Web site and our recruitment services. Please feel free to contact us with any further issues or suggestions at [email protected].
