Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

The business practices during sales are intended to rob the consumer of as much as possible, especially since the people who go to this sort of dealer are desparate for a vehicle to conduct their lives, particularly in places with poor public transportation. The sales person also lied about what their warranty covers.  I understand that they arrange loans for consumers with bad credit with the promise of helping the consumer improve their credit score; however, they take no care or responsibility in the product they're selling you.  I don't think there is a chance of ultimately even improving your credit score if they sell you garbage. They are predators. I expected at least a reasonable car.

The purchase of the car was unlike any deal I have ever been involved with. There are no sticker prices on any of the vehicles. You go in and wait in line for them to bring up your bank statements on a computer. after reviewing your finances, they come up with a magic number of the vehicle they think you can afford. I believe my magic number was 21. They then told me that 21 meant they could sell me a 10000 dollar car and showed me two old vehicles that they claimed were rated for number 21. The cars were over a dozen years old. It did not occur to me to ask to see a cheaper car. I was told that I could pick from one of the two cars.

It was a 2001 Buick LeSabre with 123000 miles on it. Then the confusing paperwork started. They want to know why you had bad credit, but then they write in "too much debt" no matter what you say. I think two years of two bread winners (with children) being unemployed during a depression is a good reason but that is not what they wrote. The goal is to make you feel like a screwup when, in fact, 2 years of unemployment would hose almost anybody and has nothing to do with "personal responsibility" but since they brought it up, where is thiers??

I had to get a ride to this dealer and so have a witness of the many times the salesman lied about the warranty on the car. Repeatedly he told us everything under the hood was covered. Of course, this is not true. Almost nothing has ever been covered by their warranty.

Then the confusing paperwork started. This old beater with a 123000 miles on it, bad brakes, chips in the windshield, would cost me $440 a month. during this process, I watched their video on arbitration, not knowing that it is a way for them to get out of liability when you are injured in their broken down vehicles. The salesperson also was running up and back and changing the number of months on the loan.

In less than 24 hours the car was not drivable.  Then I found out that the warranty covers almost nothing. Additionally, I must take the car to one of the auto repair shops on their list, all of which are a $100 tow away. The first repair shop didn't do a proper job and left an old part in the car while charging for a new one.

This car has been in the shop about 6 times already and has cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars with me replacing most of what is under the hood. Each time is a hefty tow, a drain on my finances, enough stress to shorten my life, and it recently spends more time broken down than on the road. The loan, which I thought was for 26 months, is 32 or more months. With 8 months remaining, it is broken down again and not usable. I purchased a car, not a credit score, so first and foremost I expect a car, not garbage. Is there no limit to how much our corrupt law makers allow corporations to rob us? 3 times the value of the car wasn't enough, and it won't even keep running now?

No one in their right mind would continue paying for this car. I have done my part in being "responsible", what about carhop? Corporations are people, my friend, why is no one at Carhop responsible for selling me trash instead of a working vehicle I can afford? High interest isn't enough, they pad it 5 grand, AND charge high interest AND sell garbage????? Doesn't the fact that they sold me garbage invalidate their contract? Or did they put in fine print that says they're selling me a car that won't be usable? I did not write the contract, they did.

I believe with all the repairs, I have been paying 500-600 per month for an unsafe vehicle that causes grief and they aren't responsible. Why not?!! They are thieves and liars preying on people they bleed for every last drop. Is there a legal solution here or do I pretend there is actually a hell for them to fry in? And this BS with the credit report is another thing. The banks invented the credit reports, so where is a provision for when they crash the economy?  I am sick and tired of being screwed from every direction. How can this be legal?

How many deaths has carhop been responsible for?  Include suicides please.

“I was told that I could pick from one of the two cars.”

You also had the option of not picking either car.

“Repeatedly he told us everything under the hood was covered. Of course, this is not true.”

A verbal warranty is worth the paper it’s written on. ALWAYS insist on a written warranty.

“The loan, which I thought was for 26 months, is 32 or more months.”

What are the terms of the written financial agreement?

“Is there no limit to how much our corrupt law makers allow corporations to rob us? 3 times the value of the car wasn't enough…”

We do not have price controls in a free market economy. Merchants have the right to offer goods and services at any price they desire. It’s the consumer’s right to accept or decline the offer.

“Doesn't the fact that they sold me garbage invalidate their contract?”

Possibly. Can you prove the seller concealed knowledge of problems with the vehicle?

“I did not write the contract, they did.”

You agreed to the terms so now you may be suffering from a case of buyer’s remorse.
