Carl Pileggi Of Pileggi Builders Take the Money and Run! Indian Trail North Carolina
I entered into a contract with Carl Pileggi to do work on my house. He was very attentive and prompt to return phone calls...........until he got my money!!! I gave him a down payment for materials and I never got a phone call from him again. He sent a few lame emails explaining why the project was not getting done. He went as far as to have his wife email me and tell me he was in the hospital for migraine headaches. Ironically, the day she sent me the email saying he was still in the hospital, I saw him driving his car that very same evening! As of today, I have still not gotten my money back from him. Consumer beware!!!!

It's good to know I'm not "crazy", as Carl Pileggi has commented about my character to another company I was doing business with. JJ, I feel your pain. I too was a victim of the "lame emails" and "take the money and run" routine. I have not heard nor recieved my money back from Carl Pileggi either. I've been waiting since June...so I hope you have better luck! I hope you kept all your emails, the contract, and a copy of the cashed check. What I can suggest to you is make copies of all this information and send a complaint report the NC Attorney General and BBB. I have done that and although he has not responded to any of them, at least they have files of more than one complaint of this man, and MAYBE then they can take some kind of action. I recently reported him to the NC Licensing Board of General Contractors and found out he is NOT a licensed contractor, even though he claims he is. They explained to me that in the state of NC, any monkey contractor can practice without a license as long as the charge is under $30,000that's scary stuff. Because Carl Pileggi is NOT licensed, there is nothing the board can do about it. So for now, Carl Pileggi is out there, free to fool people, take their hefty "for materials only downpayment" ... and sadly getting away with it. So like you said....CONSUMERS BEWARE!!!
