When buying a car you should just ask the sales consultant where it came from. Carmax never states or says that they inspect for rust. In cases where the vehicle came from a typically snowy region it is to standard to sell the car. They do look at the vehicle and if vehicle standards for the rust you see is typical for that region they pass it. This would have been a vehicle transfered by a customer from a snwy region where it was passed on the inspetion because in those regions it's difficult to not sell that car. so the standrd is set. Just ask your sales rep for an auto check to determine if a customer transfered it from a ne region where it may have been sunject to snow. That will help you have a better experience. Carmax is really a great way to car buy.
