Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
To the person who claimed my story was "made up": I have photos of my then 9 year old son with the policia/machine guns. Tried to soften the experience for him by taking the pics, but the facts ARE the facts. The Miracle was a nightmare, and while my mother took a cruise with Carnival 2 weeks later (but on a different ship, the Imagination) and had a great time, I wouldn't go back for anything.

Again, YOU WERE NOT THERE. My son still talks about the experience and the fear that we were going to be left there, jailed, or even shot.

You have NO right to speak on what happened to another person.

Last time I was down towards Mexico was on a cruise. The day we arrived in Cozumel was the day after the war started in Iraq. They had extra security at the docks to ensure passenger safety from possible terrorist attack. Not to say the security was not tight enough already. To put it politely the soldiers/police are guarding the landings and/or dock are not really good humored. They expect you to have your boarding card in hand and ready for them to view. They also expect to see a picture ID to make sure the person with the pass is the same person named on it. If you are polite and courteous to them they are the same to you. If you show attitude they will do the same to you. The thing being that they can and will make things difficult for you if you do. The federales (police/soldiers) have the final say. So tell me Vania did you have your passes ready for the guards or did you try to run by them (good reason for them to point their guns at you if it really happened). Since by her own admission Vania doesn't understand Spanish she could hardly claim any policemen or anyone else was accusing her of stealing anything. For all she knows they were trying to help her. Also I found original post hard to beleive since all someone else had to do was speak up and say that she was on the bus. Since this didn't happen it can probably be presumed she did not pay for transportation as part of the excursion. Like I said before they would have given her some kind of band or ticket to show she had been on the bus in the beginning. I definitely would not want to go anywhere near any of the border towns though.

Mexico is in the middle of a war. The US state dept just issued ANOTHER travel advisory for US citizens traveling IN Mexico. Stopped going down there years ago, after seeing federal troops racing around towns, in jeeps with .50 cals. on the backs and troops patrolling with M-16's. Last Christmas, the Laredo chamber of commerce rented FIVE grayhound buses to take San Antonio shoppers to the border for free. TWENTY people showed up. I wonder why? It's a way of life down there and spilling over here.

I have been on enough cruises (6) to know that something isn't quite sitting right with your story. Please post the pics. Thanks
