Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I ordered my furniture 4/11/02. I call the company 5-10 times daily. The owner of the company is the only one to talk to. My other contacts have left the company.

Every week I am promised furniture! There is always an excuse...weather, broken truck, etc... I leave messages that are never returned.

HR, the owner, has promised me delivery this week....again. After 9 1/2 mths, I don't know what to believe.

Don't Expect The Sheriff's Department to Respond

Danielle, you will never receive a phone call back from the Brunswick County Sheriff's Department. I have called several times, left a message for the detective on his voice mail, talked directly with other personnel and still have not received a response. If you have not already done so, you need to file a complaint with the NC Attorney General's office. They cannot file charges but they need all the ammunition they can get to share with federal and local authorities. You may also want to call or write Senator Basnight's office (NC Senator) and indicate that you are dissatisfied with the lack of movement on shutting Mr. Privette and Carolina Furniture down as well as getting back any deposits due to you. I can't gaurentee it, but the Senator's office may be able to apply pressure where it is needed to help move charges along. Good Luck....My deposit was $4,000+ and I am still trying to collect.

Has anyone talked with this man within the last two weeks? I talked to a lady at the sheriff's dept. yesterday. She told me the case was being turned over to the FBI. Does anyone know when HR goes back to court? What are our changes of getting money back? I can't seem to get any info from anyone. The detective, Donnel Marlow, hasn't returned my calls. Thanks,

I Finally Received Refund

I did receive a refund after many phone calls and I also got a lawyer involved. Do not give up and keep bugging him. My first refund check bounced so I had to get the lawyer involved and then received a real check. Dealing with this company was a nightmare. Janie

HR promised to "come through with furniture"

After many phone calls today, I spoke to HR. He talked to me for 15 mins! HR said that the warehouse is full of furniture to be shipped out. HR did state that his company was having some difficult times. He cut his staff and lowered the remaining employees pay.

As of today, the company has received over 1000 orders since my order was placed April 11. HR informed me that I will get my furniture.

I also told him about this site and a lady in Roswell (Janie). We live in neighboring towns. I thought we both could have furniture delivered on the same truck.
HR told me that he mailed her a 600.00 refund today. Janie...please respond if you receive a check.

I am giving HR one more chance. I hope he comes through and delivers my furniture.

I will update everyone if and when I receive my order.
