I ordered several pieces of furniture from Bassett's, Grove Park Bedroom Collection from Carolina Furniture on September 9, 2002. It is now March 23 and I have no furniture and I am out the $1,300 I sent them. I cannot get them to respond to any phone calls and they will only respond to emails by saying to check the status on their web page which I have done and it tells you absolutely nothing about the status. In addition to this loss I've had to cancel my credit card and have a new one issued so HR Privette could not steal anymore of my money.

I have not hopes of getting a refund and I don't believe there is any furniture to be had. I ordered new furniture from a local Bassett store.

In hopes of getting some "real" attention on this thief I have contacted three major news shows by email. They are 20/20, Primetime and Downtown. I intend to contact several more. Unfortunately, with the war at hand this issue may never catch their attention. I have also contacted the AG office, WRAL, a local NC news show and the BBB. I plan to contact the police, the NCDA and any one else I can think of.

Send this man several emails everyday, anywhere from 25 to 100 would be good. I have found he doesn't like for his email box to be bombarded. This is the only way I was able to get a response, of course his response was a lie, but he was annoyed just as we are. In addition, go online to the major networks and send emails regarding this operation to shows like 20/20, Primetime, Dateline, etc. The more they get the more likely they are to do a report. If we can't get our money back maybe we can prevent others from being ripped off since this man is somehow allowed to continue "business as usual."
